Improvement of the longitudinal phase space tomography at the J-PARC synchrotrons / Okita, H (J-PARC) ; Tamura, F (J-PARC) ; Yamamoto, M (J-PARC) ; Nomura, M (J-PARC) ; Shimada, T (J-PARC) ; Saha, P K (J-PARC) ; Yoshii, M (J-PARC) ; Ohmori, C (J-PARC) ; Sugiyama, Y (J-PARC) ; Hasegawa, K (J-PARC) et al.
The longitudinal phase space tomography, which reconstructs the phase space distribution from the one-dimensional bunch profiles, is used in various accelerators to measure longitudinal beam parameters. At the J-PARC, an implementation of the phase space tomography based on the convolution back projection method has been used to measure the momentum spread of the injected beam. [...]

Tailoring transverse beam characteristics with the new CERN PS Booster charge-exchange injection system / Renner, E (TU Vienna) ; Albright, S (CERN) ; Antoniou, F (CERN) ; Asvesta, F (CERN) ; Bartosik, H (CERN) ; Bracco, C (CERN) ; Di Giovanni, G P (CERN) ; Mikulec, B (CERN) ; Prebibaj, T (CERN) ; Skowronski, P (CERN) et al.
A key aspect of the LHC Injectors Upgrade project is the connection of the PSB to the newly built Linac4 and the related installation of a new 160\,MeV charge-exchange injection system. The new injection system was commissioned in winter 2020/21 and is now used operationally to tailor the transverse characteristics for the various beam types at CERN, such as high-intensity fixed target beams, LHC single bunch beams, and high-brightness beams for LHC. Strongly curved super-conducting magnets: beam optics modeling and field quality / Benedetto, E (Unlisted, CH) ; Barna, D (Wigner RCP, Budapest) ; D’Addazio, M (Unlisted, IT) ; Maria, R De (CERN) ; Felcini, E (Unlisted, IT) ; Frisella, G (Unlisted, IT) ; Garolfi, L (Unlisted, CH ; CERN) ; Latina, A (CERN) ; Norman, H (Manchester U.) ; Oponowicz, E (CERN) et al.
Superconducting dipoles with a strong curvature (radius smaller than 2 meters, for an aperture of about 100 mm and a length of 1-3 meters) are required for applications where compactness is key, such as the synchrotron and gantry for Carbon-ion therapy developed within the European program HITRIplus.Such magnets challenge several assumptions in the field description and put to the test the range of validity of beam optics codes. In particular, the equivalence that holds for the straight magnets between the transverse multipoles description obtained from the Fourier analysis (used for magnet design and measurements) and the Taylor expansion of the vertical field component along the horizontal axis (used in beam optics) is not valid any longer. To achieve the vacuum quality required for the operation of particle accelerators, the surface of the vacuum vessels must be clean and free of hydrocarbons. This is usually done by wet chemistry processes, e.g. [...]

Handling the Functional Features of Accelerator Components Using ISO GPS Situation Features / Nicquevert, B (CERN) ; Rey, F (ESS, Lund)
The building blocks of a scientific facility based on particle beams is made of magnets and electro-magnetic devices such as accelerating cavities. The optical design usually imposes a demanding accuracy with respect to their theoretically exact position and orientation. [...]

Periodicity five lattice proposal for a cpedm prototype ring / Cilento, Vera (CERN) ; Carli, Christian (CERN)
The community studying facilities to measure a possible Electric Dipole Moment of a charged particle (cpEDM) in a storage ring agreed that a Prototype Storage-Ring (PSR) is required as intermediate step to address critical questions, gain experience and rule out showstoppers. In what follows, a new lattice proposal of the PSR with a periodicity five is described and spin tracking simulations are shown. [...]

Derivation and interpretation of parameters describing betatron mismatch and chromaticity / Carli, Christian (CERN) ; Skoufaris, Kyriacos (CERN)
Expressions to quantify betatron mismatch and chromatic effects are frequently used in accelerator physics, but their derivations are not given in standard text books, making their interpretation difficult. First parameters describing betatron mismatch are introduced using normalization with respect to reference Twiss parameters describing a lattice. [...]
