Neutral meson and photon production at the LHC measured with the ALICE experiment / Matyja, A (Cracow, INP) /ALICE
The LHC provided pp collisions in the energy range $\sqrt{s}=0.9$ to $13$ TeV , p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{\mathrm{S_{NN}}}=5.02$ and $8$ TeV , as well as Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{\mathrm{S_{NN}}}=2.76$ and $5.02$ TeV. Neutral meson production spectra and their ratios $\eta/ \pi^0$ as well as photon double ratio $R_{\gamma}$ and direct photon spectra have been measured in a wide $p_{\mathrm{T}}$ range at mid-rapidity by the ALICE experiment. Photoproduction of vector mesons in ultra-peripheral Pb-Pb interactions with ALICE / Anson, Christopher Daniel (Creighton U.) /Alice collaboration
Cross section measurements for vector meson production in ultra-peripheral collisions provide important insight into nuclear gluon distributions, the production mechanisms of vector mesons and a better understanding of the early stages of heavy ion collisions. Charge correlations using balance functions of identified particles in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 2.76$ TeV with ALICE / Alam, Sk Noor (Calcutta, VECC) /ALICE Collaboration
By studying the balance functions of several hadronic species, one can gain insight into the chem-ical evolution of the Quark \textendash Gluon Plasma and radial flow. In a picture of early hadronisation,pairs of particles and anti-particles (created at the same space \textendash time point) are separated furtherin rapidity due to the higher initial temperature and diffusive interactions with other particles.Therefore delayed hadronisation will lead to strong correlations in rapidity in the final state.
