Flow induced vibrations of the CLIC X-Band accelerating structures / Charles, Tessa (Monash U.) ; Ryan, Kris (Monash U.) ; Boland, Mark (ASP, Melbourne) ; Riddone, Germana (CERN) ; Samoshkin, Alexandre (Dubna, JINR)
Turbulent cooling water in the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) accelerating structures will inevitably induce some vibrations. The maximum acceptable amplitude of vibrations is small, as vibrations in the accelerating structure could lead to beam jitter and alignment difficulties. [...]

Civil engineering studies for major projects after LHC / Osborne, John (CERN) ; Magnin, Frédéric (CERN) ; Perez-Duenas, Eliseo (CERN)
CERN civil engineers are heavily involved in studying several major potential collider projects to succeed/complement the LHC. Infrastructure works typically represent one third of the cost of major physics projects, so it's critical that the construction costs are well understood from the conceptual stage. [...]

In a collaboration between CERN, PSI and Sincrotrone Trieste (ST), a multi- purpose X-band accelerating structure has been designed and fabricated, used for high gradients tests in the CLIC structure testing program and in the FEL projects of PSI and ST. The structure has 72 cells with a phase advance of 5 pi/6 and includes upstream and down-stream wakefield monitors to measure the beam alignment. [...]

Design and System integration of the superconducting wiggler magnets for the CLIC Damping Rings / Schoerling, Daniel (CERN) ; Antoniou, Fanouria (CERN) ; Bernhard, Axel (KIT) ; Bragin, Alexey (BINP) ; Karppinen, Mikko (CERN) ; Maccaferri, Remo (CERN) ; Mezentsev, Nikolay (BINP) ; Rossmanith, Robert (KIT) ; Rumolo, Giovanni (CERN) ; Russenschuck, Stephan (CERN) et al.
To achieve high luminosity at the collision point of the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC) the normalized horizontal and vertical emittances of the electron and positron beams must be reduced to 500 nm and 4 nm before the beams enter the 1.5TeV linear accelerators. An effective way to accomplish ultra-low emittances with only small effects on the electron polarization is using damping rings operating at 2.86 GeV equipped with superconducting wiggler magnets.
