Standard model highlights at CMS / Gilbert, Andrew James (Northwestern U.) /CMS Collaboration
An overview of recent vector boson and top physics measurements is presented. These results use a $\sqrt{s}=13\,\mathrm{TeV}$ proton-proton collision data set recorded in 2016--2018 with integrated luminosities of up to $138\,\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$..

Inclusive and differential top quark pair cross-section measurements at CMS / Fernandez Menendez, Javier (Oviedo U.) /CMS Collaboration
Recent results and state-of-the-art on top-quark pair production cross sections in both inclusive and differential measurements are presented, obtained using data collected with the CMS experiment during the LHC Run2 period at centre-of-mass energies ranging of 5.02 and 13TeV. Results are confronted against SM NLO and NNLO order predictions, several MC generators and tunes, and parton density function variations, with a special focus on the latest Run2 results [...]

Development of a L1 tau lepton trigger algorithm for the HL-LHC using the CMS high-granularity calorimeter information / Motta, Jona (Ecole Polytechnique) /CMS Collaboration
The High-Luminosity LHC will open an unprecedented window on the weak-scale nature of the universe, providing high-precision measurements of the Standard Model (SM) as well as searches for new physics beyond the SM. The CMS Collaboration is planning to replace entirely its trigger and data acquisition systems to match this ambitious physics program. [...]

Di-Higgs searches at the LHC / Chernyavskaya, Nadezda (CERN) /ATLAS and CMS Collaborations
An overview of the recent searches for Higgs boson pair production at the LHC was presented. The searches were based on approximately 140 fb$^{-1}$ of data collected by the ATLAS and CMS experiments in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV. [...]

YSF Observation of VBS production in opposite-sign WW events at CMS / Lizzo, Mattia (INFN, Florence ; Florence U.) /CMS Collaboration
The first observation of Vector Boson Scattering (VBS) in the W$^{+}$W$^{-}$ channel is presented. The analyzed data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 138 \ensuremath{\mathrm{fb^{-1}}} of proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV, collected by the CMS detector at the CERN LHC. Top quark production cross sections and rare processes at CMS and ATLAS / Saggio, Alessia (DESY) /ATLAS and CMS Collaborations
Inclusive and differential measurements of cross sections as well as searches for rare processes in the top quark sector provide an important test of the standard model (SM) and a powerful probe of physics beyond the SM (BSM). Recent results on inclusive and differential measurements of $\mathrm{t}\bar{\mathrm{t}}$, tZq, and $\mathrm{t}\bar{\mathrm{t}}+\mathrm{X}$ processes are reported, together with searches for flavour changing neutral currents (FCNCs) and charged lepton flavour violation (CLFV) in top quark processes, and for production of four top quarks. All results are obtained in proton-proton collision data, recorded by the ATLAS and CMS experiments at the CERN LHC from 2015 to 2018 at $\sqrt{s}=13$~TeV.}

Higgs cross-sections and properties at CMS and ATLAS / De Wit, Adinda Maite (Zurich U.) /ATLAS and CMS Collaborations
Measurements of Higgs boson production cross sections and properties, by the CMS and ATLAS experiments at the CERN LHC are presented. The focus is on recent results of simplified template cross section measurements, fiducial differential cross section measurements, and analyses probing the CP structure of the top quark Yukawa coupling. Flow harmonics in heavy ion physics at CMS and ATLAS / Krintiras, Georgios (Kansas U.) /ATLAS and CMS Collaborations
How can we gain a detailed insight into the hydrodynamic response of the system created in heavy ion collisions to the fluctuating initial geometry and viscous effects? Do we create a strongly interacting medium in proton-nucleus and proton-proton collisions, or rather a system of partons undergoing few scatterings? To what extent can we discriminate between initial momentum correlations and flow generated as a response to the initial geometry via interactions in the final state? Do measurements of identified particle flow confirm the observations from inclusive charged hadrons? An experimental overview of anisotropic flow measurements, ranging from large down to the smallest collision systems, is given in these proceedings. \\{\textnormal{Published in the}} Proceedings of the 2021 QCD and High Energy Interactions, ISBN: 979-10-96879-15-1

Searches for exotic physics with boosted objects at CMS and ATLAS / Lange, Clemens (PSI, Villigen) /ATLAS and CMS Collaborations
Exotic physics can manifest itself in heavy resonances that could be accessible at the CERN LHC. The decay products of such a resonance are usually much lighter than the resonance itself so that they will be Lorentz-boosted. [...]

Silicon sensors for the Phase-2 upgrade of the CMS Outer Tracker; status and early results from the production phase / Damanakis, Konstantinos (Vienna, OAW) /CMS Collaboration
The high luminosity upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) will set new challenges in the operation and performance of the CMS and ATLAS experiments. The peak luminosity of the HL-LHC machine will reach 5 $\text{-}$ 7.5 $\times$ $10^{34}$ cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$, which will deliver to the experiments a 10$\text{-}$fold increase in integrated luminosity by the end of its lifetime.
