Search for a light charged Higgs boson in the H$^{\pm} \rightarrow$ cs channel at 13 TeV /CMS Collaboration
A search is conducted for a low-mass charged Higgs boson produced in a top quark decay and subsequently decaying into a charm and an antistrange quark. The data sample was recorded in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=13~\mathrm{TeV}$ by the CMS experiment at the LHC and corresponds to an integrated luminosity of $35.9~\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$. [...]

Measurement of prompt $\rm{ D_{s}^{+}}$ production in pp and PbPb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_{\text{NN}}}}$ = 5.02 TeV /CMS Collaboration
The transverse momentum ($p_{T}$) spectra of prompt $\rm{ D_{s}^{+}}$ mesons and charge conjugates are measured in pp and PbPb collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 5.02 TeV per nucleon pair using the CMS detector at the LHC. The measurement is performed through the ${\rm D_{s}^{+}}$ $\to$ $\phi$$\pi^{+}$ $\to$ $\rm{K^{+}K^{-}}$$\pi^{+}$ decay channels with the $\rm{ D_{s}^{+}}$ rapidity range $|y| < 1.0 $. [...]

Extraction of CKM matrix elements in single top quark $t$-channel events in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV /CMS Collaboration
This note presents a model-independent extraction of the modulus of the Cabibbo Kobayashi Maskawa matrix elements $\mathrm{V_{\mathrm{tb}}}$, $\mathrm{V_{\mathrm{td}}}$, and $\mathrm{V_{\mathrm{ts}}}$ using an event sample enriched in single top quark $t$-channel events. The analysis uses proton-proton collisions data from the LHC collected during 2016 by the CMS experiment at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 35.9 fb$^{\mathrm{-1}}$. Nuclear modification factor of isolated photons in PbPb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_{\mathrm{NN}}}} = 5.02~\mathrm{TeV}$ /CMS Collaboration
The transverse energy ($E^{\gamma}_\text{T}$) spectra and the nuclear modification factors ($R_{\mathrm{AA}}$) of isolated photons are analyzed using proton-proton (pp) and lead-lead (PbPb) collisions at $\sqrt{s_{_{\mathrm{NN}}}} = 5.02~\mathrm{TeV}$. The data were collected using the CMS detector at the CERN LHC with corresponding integrated luminosities of $404~\mu\mathrm{b}^{-1}$ and $27.4~\mathrm{pb}^{-1}$ for PbPb and pp data, respectively. Nuclear modification of $\Upsilon$ states in pPb collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}} = 5.02~\mathrm{TeV}$ /CMS Collaboration
Production cross sections of $\Upsilon(\mathrm{1S})$, $\Upsilon(\mathrm{2S})$, and $\Upsilon(\mathrm{3S})$ states decaying into $\mu^{+}\mu^{-}$ in proton-lead (pPb) collisions are reported using data collected by the CMS experiment at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}=5.02~\mathrm{TeV}$. Nuclear modification factors $R_\mathrm{pPb}$ for all three $\Upsilon$ states are obtained using measured proton-proton (pp) cross sections at the same collision energy. [...]

Search for strong electromagnetic fields in PbPb collisions at 5.02 TeV via azimuthal anisotropy of $\mathrm{D^0}$ and $\mathrm{\overline{D}^0}$ mesons /CMS Collaboration
Motivated by the search for strong electromagnetic fields created in PbPb collisions, the first measurement of the $v_2$ difference ($\Delta v_2$) between $\mathrm{D^0}$ and $\mathrm{\overline{D}^0}$ is presented as a function of rapidity. The result for the rapidity-averaged $v_2$ difference is found to be $\left\langle\Delta v_2 \right\rangle = 0.001 \pm 0.001 \mathrm{(stat)} \pm 0.003 \mathrm{(syst)}$, consistent with zero within experimental uncertainties. Studies of charm and beauty long-range correlations in pp and pPb collisions /CMS Collaboration
Studies of collective long-range (large $\eta$ gap) correlations involving open charm and beauty hadrons in pp and pPb collisions are presented, using data samples collected by the CMS experiment with center-of-mass energies of 13 and 8.16 TeV, respectively. The elliptic flow harmonics ($v_2$) of prompt and nonprompt $D^{0}$ mesons (from beauty hadron decays) are extracted from long-range two-particle azimuthal correlations, with respect to inclusive charged particles. Evidence for top quark production in nucleus-nucleus collisions /CMS Collaboration
Evidence for the production of top quarks in heavy ion collisions is reported in a data sample of lead-lead collisions recorded in 2018 by the CMS experiment at a nucleon-nucleon center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{\smash[b]{s_{_{\mathrm{NN}}}}} = 5.02$ TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $1.7\pm0.1\,\text{nb}^{-1}$. Top quark pair ($\mathrm{t\bar{t}}$) production is measured in events with two opposite-sign high-$p_{\mathrm{T}}$ isolated leptons ($\ell^\pm\ell^\mp =\,\mathrm{e}^{+} \mathrm{e}^{-},\,\mu^{+} \mu^{-},\,\text{and}\,\mathrm{e}^{\pm} \mu^{\mp}$). The first evidence for $\chi_{c1}$(3872) in relativistic heavy ion collisions is reported. Prompt $\chi_{c1}$(3872) production is studied in PbPb collisions at a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{\smash[b]{s_{_{\mathrm{NN}}}}} = 5.02$ TeV per nucleon pair, using the decay chain $\chi_{c1}$(3872)$\rightarrow {\rm J}/\psi\pi^+\pi^-\rightarrow \mu^+\mu^-\pi^+\pi^-$. This note presents jet charge distributions in $5.0~\mathrm{TeV}$ PbPb and pp collisions recorded by the CMS detector at the LHC. [...]
