Charmless $B\rightarrow VV$ decays at LHCb / Álvarez Cartelle, P (Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, Santiago de Compostela, Spain) $B^0_s$ meson decays into non--charmonium vector pairs are of particular interest to search for indirect $CP$ violation. The analyses of two specific decays are presented here, $B_s^0 \rightarrow \phi \phi$ and $B_s^0 \rightarrow K^{*0} \bar{K}^{*0}$. Evaluation of x32-ABI in the Context of LHC Applications / Rauschmayr, N (CERN, Switzerland) ; Streit, A (Steinbuch Centre for Computing, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany) The application binary interface x32 (x32-ABI) was introduced in Linux kernel 3.4 and is based on the x64 instruction set. Instead of 64-bit it uses 32-bit as size for pointers and C-data type long, reducing consequently memory overhead. [...] LHCb-PROC-2013-033; CERN-LHCb-PROC-2013-033.- Geneva : CERN, 2013 - 8 p. LHCb Semileptonic Asymmetry / Vesterinen, M (CERN, Switzerland) A recent LHCb measurement of the $CP$ violating flavour specific asymmetry in $B^0_s$ decays, $a^s_{sl}$ is presented. This measurement is based on a data sample corresponding to an intergrated luminosity of 1 fb$^{-1}$ of $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV, sollected durint the 2011 run of the LHC. Studies of the soft QCD at LHCb / Contu, Andrea (Sezione INFN di Cagliari, Italy) This paper summarises two analyses of minimum bias data collected with the LHCb detector from $pp$ collisions at the LHC. The geometry, tracking and particle identification system of the LHCb experiment provide unique capabilities for this type of study in a kinematic region where QCD models have large uncertainties. Performance of the LHCb Detector During the LHC Proton Runs 2010 - 2012 / Jacobsson, R (CERN, Switzerland) LHCb experiment at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider (LHC) searches for New Physics through precision measurements in the domain of heavy flavour physics, exploiting in particular the large B hadron production. After a short introduction to the requirements of the LHCb detector, this paper reviews the operational strategy during the first three years of data taking. Future wishes and constraints from the experiments at the LHC for the proton-proton program / Jacobsson, R (CERN, Switzerland) Hosting six different experiments at four different interaction points and widely different requirements for the running conditions, the LHC machine has been faced with a long list of challenges in the first three years of luminosity production 2010 – 2012 (Run 1), many of which were potentially capable of limiting the performance due to instabilities resulting from the extremely high bunch brightness. Nonetheless, LHC met the challenges and performed extremely well at high efficiency and routinely with beam brightness at twice the design, well over 1/3 of the time in collision for physics, average luminosity lifetimes in excess of 10h, and extremely good background conditions in the experiments. CP Violation in the $B^0_s$ system in LHCb / Benson, S (University of Edinburgh, UK) Latest LHCb measurements of $CP$ violation in the interference between mixing and decay are presented based on $pp$ collision data collected in 2011 at centre-of-mass energy $\sqrt{s}$ = 7TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 1.0fb$^{-1}$. A combination of about $27.6k$ $B_s^0\to J/\psi \phi$ and $7.4k$ $B_s^0\to J/\psi \pi\pi$ signal events yield the most accurate measurement of the $CP$-violating phase, $\phi_s^{c\overline{c}s}$. Rare decays at LHCb / Polci, Francesco (CNRS/IN2P3, Paris, France) The results on rare decay processes obtained by the LHCb experiment using 1.0 $fb^{-1}$ of $pp$ collisions collected in 2011 at a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s} = 7 TeV$ are presented. Branching fractions, angular distinctions, CP and isospin asymmetries are investigated to search for new physics effects.. LHCb-PROC-2013-027; CERN-LHCb-PROC-2013-027.- Geneva : CERN, 2013 - 4 p. Precision weak boson production cross-section measurements at LHCb / Barschel, Colin (CERN, Geneva, Switzerland) Precision measurements of weak boson production cross-sections at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) allow the Standard Model to be tested and parton distribution funtions to be constrained. To achieve this goal an absolute precision of 2% or better is desirable on the experimental measurement. [...] LHCb-PROC-2013-025; CERN-LHCb-PROC-2013-025.- Geneva : CERN, 2013 - 6 p.
