A Cherenkov-based Beam Loss Scintillator system for beam, background and online luminosity monitoring at the LHCb experiment at CERN
/ Alessio, F (CERN, Switzerland) ; Dzhelyadin, R (Institute for High Energy Physics (IHEP), Protvino, Russia) ; Jacobsson, R (CERN, Switzerland)
The installation of a scintillator-based system in the LHCb cavern was initially proposed in order to observe injection problems around the LHCb interaction region. Thanks to the fact that LHCb had already developed a custom-made electronics board (BPIM) for the LHCb beam pickups and global LHCb timing monitoring, a complete, inexpensive but flexible and robust system was quickly developed and installed few cm from the beam pipe just in front of the LHCb VELO detector in time for the very first beams injected in the LHC [...]

Performance of the Muon MWPC in high luminosity runs
/ Pinci, Davide (INFN - Sezione di Roma, Italy)
The LHCb detector was conceived to operate with an average luminosity of 2x10$^{32}$cm$^{-1}$s$^{-1}$. During the last year of the LHC run, the whole apparatus has shown to be able to perfectly acquire and manage data produced at a luminosity as high as 4x10$^{32}$cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$. [...]

LHCb Computing Resource usage in 2012(II)
/ Charpentier, P (CERN)
This document summarizes the usage of computing resources by the LHCb collaboration during the period January to February 2013 (fourteen months) and it is prepared under request of the C-RSG. This document is organized as follows: section 2 presents the data-taking conditions for 2012; section 3 shows the usage of CPU resources; section 4 reports on the usage of storage resources [...]

VELO aperture considerations for the LHCb Upgrade
/ Appleby, R B (Manchester U. ; Cockcroft Inst. Accel. Sci. Tech.) ; Ferro-Luzzi, M (CERN) ; Giovannozzi, M (CERN) ; Holzer, B (CERN) ; Neat, M (Manchester U. ; Cockcroft Inst. Accel. Sci. Tech.)
In Long Shutdown 2 the VELO detectors will be replaced by new modules compatible with the LHCb Upgrade 40 MHz read-out system. A smaller inner radius of the VELO RF foil and of the silicon sensor active area will allow LHCb to considerably improve the impact parameter resolution. [...]

Implications of LHCb measurements and future prospects
/ LHCb Collaboration
During 2011 the LHCb experiment at CERN collected $1.0 {\mbox{fb}^{-1}}$ of $\sqrt{s} = 7 {\mathrm{\,Te\kern -0.1em V}}$ $pp$ collisions. Due to the large heavy quark production cross-sections, these data provide unprecedented samples of heavy flavoured hadrons. [...]

Readout Control Specifications for the Front-End and Back-End of the LHCb Upgrade
/ Alessio, F (CERN) ; Jacobsson, R (CERN)
The LHCb experiment has proposed an upgrade towards a full 40 MHz readout system in order to run between five and ten times the initial design luminosity. The various sub-systems in the readout architecture will need to be upgraded in order to cope with higher sub-detector occupancies, higher rate and higher network load. [...]
