Influence of Axial Strain and Transverse Compressive Load on Critical Current of Nb3Sn Wires for the FCC
/ Nakamoto, M (Sokendai, Tsukuba) ; Sugano, M (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Dhakarwal, M (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Ogitsu, T (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Nishijima, G (Tsukuba Magnet Lab.) ; Awaji, S (Tohoku U. (main)) ; Kawashima, S (Kobe Steel) ; Hopkins, S C (CERN) ; Ballarino, A (CERN)
Nb 3 Sn superconducting wires are under consideration for producing high field accelerator magnets for the proposed Future Circular Collider (FCC) due to their high critical field. R&D; studies are ongoing worldwide with a target non-Cu critical current density ( Jc ) of 1500 A/mm 2 at 4.2 K, 16 T. [...]

Training-free performance of the wax-impregnated SuShi septum magnet
/ Barna, D (Wigner RCP, Budapest) ; Brunner, K (Wigner RCP, Budapest) ; Novák, M (Wigner RCP, Budapest) ; Borburgh, J (CERN) ; Atanasov, M (CERN) ; Lackner, F (CERN) ; Olvegård, M (Uppsala U.) ; Pepitone, K (Uppsala U.) ; Santiago Kern, R (Uppsala U.) ; Svanberg, C (Uppsala U.) et al.
In the framework of the Future Circular Collider Study a new septum magnet concept, nicknamed ‘SuShi’ has been developed, and a prototype was built at Wigner Research Center for Physics, and tested at the FREIA facility of Uppsala University in April 2023. The concept uses a canted cosine theta (CCT)-like superconducting magnet and a passive superconducting shield to create a zero-field and high-field region within its aperture. [...]

Geodetic, survey and alignment challenges of the FCC-ee
/ Mainaud Durand, H (CERN) ; Watrelot, L (CERN ; LSPM, Paris) ; Weyer, B (CERN)
At CERN, each generation of particle accelerators led to theimplementation of new geodetic, survey and alignment methodologiesfollowing the increasing accuracy requirements and the evolution ofsurvey instruments. The Future Circular Collider (FCC), representingthe next generation of particle accelerator, will in its turnrequire new development to ensure the accomplishment of theconstruction of the 91 km tunnel and the correct positioning of themachine components. Collimation simulations for the FCC-ee
/ Abramov, A (CERN) ; Broggi, G (CERN) ; Bruce, R (CERN) ; Carlier, F (CERN) ; Hofer, M (CERN) ; Iadarola, G (CERN) ; Nevay, L J (CERN) ; Pieloni, T (Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Rakic, M (CERN) ; Redaelli, S (CERN) et al.
The collimation system of the Future Circular Collider, operating with leptons (FCC-ee), must protect not only theexperiments against backgrounds, but also the machine itself frombeam losses. With a 17.8 MJ stored energy of the electron andpositron beams, they are highly destructive, and beam losses risk tocause damage or a quench of superconducting elements. [...]

First considerations on the supporting structures of FCC-ee booster and collider in the arc regions
/ Carra, F (CERN) ; Baudin, L (CERN) ; Bauche, J (CERN) ; Artoos, K (CERN) ; Atieh, S (CERN) ; Bertarelli, A (CERN) ; Brunner, O (CERN) ; Capatina, O (CERN) ; Chance, A (Saclay) ; Chemli, S (CERN) et al.
In 2022, the FCC Feasibility Study management mandated aworking group to analyse the best configuration of the FCC-ee tunnelin the arc regions, in view of the construction of a mock-up of thearc half-cell. One of the main and most challenging goals of thestudy, named FCC-ee Arc Half-Cell Mock-up Project, was toperform a preliminary investigation on the principles of supportingthe Short-Straight Sections and dipoles of the half-cells, both forthe booster and for the collider machines. Status on the Development of the Nb$_3$Sn 12 T Falcon Dipole for the FCC-hh-
/ Valente, R U (LASA, Segrate) ; Ballarino, A (CERN) ; Bersani, A (INFN, Genoa) ; Bracco, M (INFN, Genoa ; Genoa U.) ; Burioli, S (INFN, Genoa) ; Caiffi, B (INFN, Genoa) ; Matteis, E De (LASA, Segrate) ; Farinon, S (INFN, Genoa) ; Gagno, A (INFN, Genoa ; Genoa U.) ; Levi, F (INFN, Genoa ; Genoa U.) et al.
The quest for advancing science and technology continues with the Future Circular Collider (FCC), which requires 16 T bending dipoles to be installed along its 100 km tunnel to achieve a center-of-mass energy of 100 TeV, in its hadron-hadron version. The promising Nb$_3$Sn technology for superconducting magnets presents a potential solution for large-scale production. [...]
