B-physics from lattice QCD...with a twist / Carrasco, N (Valencia U. ; Valencia U., IFIC) ; Dimopoulos, P (Rome U.,Tor Vergata ; INFN, Rome2) ; Frezzotti, R (Rome U.,Tor Vergata ; INFN, Rome2) ; Gimenez, V (Valencia U. ; Valencia U., IFIC) ; Herdoiza, G (Madrid, Autonoma U. ; Madrid, IFT) ; Lubicz, V (Rome III U. ; INFN, Rome3) ; Martinelli, G (SISSA, Trieste ; INFN, Rome) ; Michael, C (Liverpool U., Dept. Math.) ; Palao, D (INFN, Rome2) ; Rossi, G C (Rome U.,Tor Vergata ; INFN, Rome2) et al. We present a precise lattice QCD determination of the b-quark mass, of the B and Bs decay constants and first results for the B-meson bag parameters. For our computation we employ the so-called ratio method and our results benefit from the use of improved interpolating operators for the B-mesons. New physics search with flavour in the LHC era / Hurth, Tobias (Mainz U., Inst. Phys.) ; Mahmoudi, Farvah (CERN ; Clermont-Ferrand U.) We give a status report on quark flavour physics in view of the latest data from the B factories and the LHC, and discuss the impact of the latest experimental results on new physics in the MFV framework. We also show some examples of the implications in supersymmetry.. arXiv:1211.6453; MZ-TH-12-49; CERN-PH-TH-2012-330.- 2013 - 16 p. - Published in : Rev. Mod. Twisting all the way: from algebras to morphisms and connections / Aschieri, Paolo (CERN ; Piemonte Orientale U., Alessandria ; INFN, Alessandria) Given a Hopf algebra H and an algebra A that is an H-module algebra we consider the category of left H-modules and A-bimodules, where morphisms are just right A-linear maps (not necessarily H-equivariant). Given a twist F of H we then quantize (deform) H to H^F, A to A_\star and correspondingly the category of left H-modules and A-bimodules to the category of left H^F-modules and A_\star-bimodules. Anomalous Majorana Neutrino Masses from Torsionful Quantum Gravity / Mavromatos, Nick E (King's Coll. London ; CERN) ; Pilaftsis, Apostolos (Manchester U. ; CERN) The effect of quantum torsion in theories of quantum gravity is usually described by an axion-like field which couples to matter and to gravitation and radiation gauge fields. In perturbation theory, the couplings of this torsion-descent axion field are of derivative type and so preserve a shift symmetry. Metastable Charged Sparticles and the Cosmological Li7 Problem / Cyburt, Richard H (Michigan State U., JINA ; Michigan State U., NSCL) ; Ellis, John (King's Coll. London ; CERN) ; Fields, Brian D (Illinois U., Urbana (main)) ; Luo, Feng (King's Coll. London ; Minnesota U.) ; Olive, Keith A (Minnesota U.) ; Spanos, Vassilis C (Democritos Nucl. Res. Ctr.) We consider the effects of metastable charged sparticles on Big-Bang Nucleosynthesis (BBN), including bound-state reaction rates and chemical effects. We make a new analysis of the bound states of negatively-charged massive particles with the light nuclei most prominent in BBN, and present a new code to track their abundances, paying particular attention to that of Li7. Testing Lorentz invariance of dark matter / Blas, Diego (CERN) ; Ivanov, Mikhail M (Moscow State U. ; Moscow, INR) ; Sibiryakov, Sergey (Moscow, INR ; Moscow State U.) We study the possibility to constrain deviations from Lorentz invariance in dark matter (DM) with cosmological observations. Breaking of Lorentz invariance generically introduces new light gravitational degrees of freedom, which we represent through a dynamical timelike vector field. Testing new physics with the electron g-2 / Giudice, G F (CERN) ; Paradisi, P (CERN) ; Passera, M (INFN, Padua) We argue that the anomalous magnetic moment of the electron (a_e) can be used to probe new physics. We show that the present bound on new-physics contributions to a_e is 8*10^-13, but the sensitivity can be improved by about an order of magnitude with new measurements of a_e and more refined determinations of alpha in atomic-physics experiments. Axion-Higgs Unification / Redi, Michele (CERN ; INFN, Florence) ; Strumia, Alessandro (Pisa U. ; INFN, Pisa ; NICPB, Tallinn) In theories with no fundamental scalars, one gauge group can become strong at a large scale Lambda and spontaneously break a global symmetry, producing the Higgs and the axion as composite pseudo-Nambu-Goldstone bosons. We show how KSVZ and DFSZ axion models can be naturally realised. [...] arXiv:1208.6013; CERN-PH-TH-2012-233.- 2012 - 19 p. - Published in : J. A Fast Track towards the Higgs' Spin and Parity / Ellis, John (King's Coll. London ; CERN) ; Hwang, Dae Sung (Sejong U.) ; Sanz, Veronica (CERN ; York U., Toronto, Dept. Phys. Astron.) ; You, Tevong (King's Coll. London ; CERN) The LHC experiments ATLAS and CMS have discovered a new boson that resembles the long-sought Higgs boson: it cannot have spin one, and has couplings to other particles that increase with their masses, but the spin and parity remain to be determined. We show here that the Higgs' + gauge boson invariant-mass distribution in Higgs'-strahlung events at the Tevatron or the LHC would be very different under the J^P = 0+, 0- and 2+ hypotheses, and could provide a fast-track indicator of the Higgs' spin and parity.
