The CMS detector for LHC Run 3

Since the initial data taking of the CERN LHC, the CMS experiment has undergone substantial upgrades and improvements. In this Detector Seminar an overview of important upgrades of the CMS Detector during previous Long Shutdowns will be given and the configuration of the experiment for the third data-taking period of the CERN LHC, Run 3, will be presented.

Réunion d’information et d’échanges : Progrès de l'étude de faisabilité du Futur collisionneur circulaire FCC
Pour faire suite à la recommandation formulée dans le cadre de la mise à jour 2020 de la stratégie européenne pour la physique des particules, un mandat a été donné au CERN par ses États membres d’étudier la faisabilité d’un Futur collisionneur circulaire ou FCC.
Le FCC serait un collisionneur de prochaine génération situé dans un tunnel souterrain de 91 km qui serait creusé en moyenne à 200 de profondeur sous les départements de l’Ain et la Haute-Savoie en France, et le canton de Genève, en Suisse. Le FCC prendrait la suite du LHC une fois que le programme de recherche de celui-ci sera arrivé à son terme, au milieu des années 2040.
L’étude de faisabilité du FCC, lancée en 2021 se poursuivra jusqu'en 2025 [...]
