The angular distribution of the f ssion fragments (FFAD) produced in neutron- induced reactions of actinides have been measured with a f ssion detection setup based on parallel-plate avalanche counters (PPACs) at the Neutron Time- Of-Flight (n_TOF) facility at CERN. The main features of the setup and pre- liminary results are reported here forthe 234 U(n,f)reaction measurement show- ing a high concordance with previous data, while providing new results up to 100 MeV..

We have studied the cross-sections of yttrium (n, x n) threshold reactions using quasi-monoenergetic neutron source based on the reaction on 7 Li target at Nuclear Physics Institute of ASCR in Rez. The ERINDA funded scientific visit has enabled the groups at U ppsala Uni- versity and University of Jyväskylä to work closer together on the design of a neutron converter that will be used as neutron source in fissi on yield studies at the IGISOL-JYFLTRAP facility at the University of Jyväsk ylä. Neutron total cross section measurements of gold and tantalum at the nELBE photoneutron source / Hannaske, Roland (Dresden, Tech. Neutron total cross sections of 197 Au and nat Ta have been measured at the nELBE photoneutron source in the energy range from 0.1 - 10 MeV with a statistical uncertainty of up to 2 % and a total systematic uncertainty of 1 %. This facility is optimized for the fast neutron energy range and combines an excellent t ime structure of the neutron pulses (electron bunch width 5 ps) with a short flight path of 7 m. [...]

Physics at the new CERN neutron beam line / Guerrero, C (CERN) /on behalf of the n_TOF Collaboration
A new neutron beam line (n_TOF EAR - 2) is being built at CERN within the n_TOF facility. Compared to the existing 185 meters long time - of - flight beam line, the new one (which will operate in parallel) will feature a shorter flight of 20 meters, providing a 2 7 times more intense neutron flux extending from thermal to 300 MeV.
