Pressure of drinking water network on the Meyrin site to be boosted

In the framework of the refurbishment of CERN's drinking water supply system, the final part of the network on the Meyrin site is to be connected to the pumping station operated by Services Industriels de Genève, bringing about a significant increase in the network pressure of up to 5 bar.

This means that from January 2005 onwards, the water pressure in buildings will be increased from 2 - 4 bar to 7 - 9 bar.

The TS Department will be checking and upgrading the drinking water supply equipment in toilets and washrooms.

All users with devices connected to the water supply system are kindly requested to check that these are compatible with the new pressure levels.
