Restrictions on running IRC (Internet Relay Chat) at CERN
Due to the large number of computer security incidents at CERN where intruders have used IRC (Internet Relay Chat) software to control computers, IRC connections will be blocked in the CERN firewall from 1st February 2005. Personal use of IRC software is not permitted at CERN.
