1 in 10 people suffer from hearing loss - do you?
The Medical Service invites everyone working on CERN premises to participate in the National Hearing Day on:
Thursday 10th March
From 9am to 4pm
The Infirmary, Blg. 57, Gr.Fl.
We will be offering hearing tests (audiogram); information, advice on hearing loss, tinnitus and more.
Deafness does not just affect the elderly: in Europe, 50% the hearing-impaired are under the age of 55. Exposure to excessive noise is one of the main reasons for hearing loss.
But PREVENTION IS POSSIBLE AND EFFECTIVE: for example, Hearing protection devices could reduce tinnitus cases by 80%.
