Standing Concertation Committee

ORDINARY MEETING ON 30 JANUARY 2007

The main items discussed at the meeting of the Standing Concertation Committee on 30 January 2007 included:

Administrative Circular No. 26: with the introduction of the merit recognition system in the framework of the 5-yearly review of CERN employment conditions, Administrative Circular No. 26 has been revised. The Committee took note of the revised document which is being finalized for submission to the Director-General for approval in the near future.

Technical analysis of CERN Health Insurance Scheme: the Committee was informed that a group has been set up by the Director-General to analyse the financial situation of the CERN Health Insurance Scheme in the short and long term, and to propose measures to ensure that the Scheme remains in financial balance, with adequate cover, over the medium term. The group's terms of reference and membership were communicated.

Comments by Staff Association on MAPS Report 2002-2005: the Committee took note of the Staff Association's comments on the Management's MAPS report for the four years 2002-2005.

Work Stoppage 15 December 2006: the Committee took note of the number of staff who took part in the work stoppage on 15 December 2006. The staff members concerned are required to work two extra hours to compensate for those not worked during the stoppage.

Other Business: recent incidents relating to personal security in the Pays de Gex were discussed. The Committee was informed that the Host State Relations service is dealing with the matter.
