REMINDER: Special traffic arrangements for the LHC inauguration ceremony on 21 october

Road, gate and tunnel closures

THE FOLLOWING WILL BE CLOSED TO ALL TRAFFIC BETWEEN 11.00 A.M. AND 7.00 P.M.:

  1. The main road (RD 984) between the Saint Genis roundabout and the customs;
  2. The Route de l’Europe running between the crossroads by the Prévessin site (RD 35b) and the RD 984;
  3. The Route de Meyrin between the Route du Mandement and the St Genis customs;
  4. Gates A, B and D and the tunnel linking the Meyrin and Prévessin sites.

Please use the following gates during the above-mentioned hours:

  • Gate C (Satigny) for access to the Meyrin site from Switzerland;
  • Gate E, which will be exceptionally open, for access to the Meyrin site from France.

Point 18, the venue for the ceremony, will be accessible only by shuttle bus (departing from Point 1 via the Globe).

Car parking

Use of the car parks reserved for the ceremony guests is strictly forbidden between 3.00 p.m. on 20 October and 6.00 p.m. on 21 October. Any vehicles parked on the car parks in question will be removed at the owners’ expense.

You are reminded that access to the LHC inauguration ceremony and the LHC Fest is by invitation only.
