The Tragedy of Man is a 2011 Hungarian animated drama film directed by Marcell Jankovics. The narrative is set in several different eras, spanning from the Biblical creation to a distant future, and follows Adam, Eve and Lucifer as they explore humanity and the meaning of life. Each segment has a different visual style. The film is based on the 1861 play The Tragedy of Man by Imre Madách.

This film is a Hungarian-Soviet epic musical / drama produced and directed by Márton Keleti, based on the biography of the Hungarian composer and pianist Franz Liszt.  While it was criticized for some of its historical inaccuracies, its epic scope and intense scenes of virtuoso musical performances won wide praise; it has been credited with affecting the cultural landscape of the 1970s Eastern Europe.
