PEACE: MAKING A DIFFERENCE!

Conflict and violence displace millions of people each year. Half of those killed in conflict are children, and 90 percent are civilians. We, Rotarians, refuse conflict as a way of life. But how can we contribute to Peace? And what about you? Are you keen on meeting exceptional individuals and exchanging ideas to move forward? Would you like to network and collaborate with Rotarians, Government Representatives, International Civil Servants, Representatives of Nongovernmental Organizations and Liberal Professions, Businessmen/women, and Students to make a difference in Peace?

In November 2017, come to Geneva, get involved, and formulate recommendations to the international community. Together, we’ll celebrate Rotary’s privileged relationship with the United Nations and our shared vision for a peaceful world.

Organized for the very first time in Geneva, the city known as the international center for diplomacy and peace, with the theme – Peace: Making A Difference – this global event will be the perfect conclusion to this year’s Geneva Peace Week.

More than 1000 participants are expected for the Rotary Day at the United Nations in Geneva, where United Nations representatives and experts of the humanitarian world will educate and inspire the large audience on how to actively build peace at the local, regional and global levels. Plenary sessions and workshops will help elucidate the objectives of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations, along with humanitarian emergency aid. A special session, organized by young leaders for young leaders, will further underline the importance of education in the peace-building process. Rotary International will also honor 6 Champions of Peace, who are engaged in remarkable work for peace through their profession or charitable activities. Side events will also complete this extraordinary event. View full program

We look forward to welcoming you soon.
