Back to school at Le Jardin des Particules: a new school year, here we go!

er two months of summer vacations, nearly a hundred children, big and small, found their way back to the nursery and school during the morning of Tuesday, August 25. An unmissable annual event, which, each year, brings its share of innovation.
Different childcare arrangement adapted to the needs of the children and the parents
The Jardin des Particules (JdP), a nursery and school, welcomes children, mainly of CERN personnel, aged from 4 months to 6 years. It is managed by the CERN Staff Association. Le Jardin des Particules offers a framework that encourages the development of each child's personality through education and teaching that respects his or her individuality within the group.
The crèche welcomes children from 4 months to 4 years old by the day, or every morning in the 2-4 year old group. Some places, especially in the trotter group (1 year/2 years old) and in the 2-3 years old group are still available. Do not hesitate to contact the Director for more information.
The school welcomes children from 4 to 6 years old (1st primary and 2nd primary) on a daily basis.
The supervision of the children is ensured by a team of professionals who benefit from training that meets the standards established by the competent cantonal authorities, in the care of young children as well as schoolchildren.
The groups have names
This year, the team gave names to the groups / classes :
Babies (4 months - 1 year): Poppies
The trotters (1 year-2 years old): the Forget-Me-Nots
2-3 years old: the Cosmos
Class 1P/2P: Dahlias
The 2nd class 1P/2P: Sunflowers
Your data is protected
The JdP structure holds a certain amount of sensitive information about you or your child in order to provide our service in the best possible conditions. Following the new provisions on personal data at CERN, the structure Le Jardin des Particules has put in place a policy of confidentiality and protection of personal data. This is to ensure the privacy of all employees, parents and children.
Discovering insects
This year, the structure Le Jardins des Particules has the project to sensitize the children to the different continents to discover the world of insects. We will discover together this fabulous universe through diverse activities.
A new building 
The challenge was taken up in spite of many pitfalls related mainly to the COVID-19 sanitary crisis! The team was able to fit out the structure in four days and continues to improve the organization of the building for the pleasure of young and old alike.
The outside space is also being installed and we hope for an extension of 500m2 as soon as possible.
Accompanied by the management team, the children will live many adventures.
