Update on the partnership between the Staff Association and BCGE
Dear members,
As you may be aware, the Staff Association (SA) has partnered with BCGE, which has enabled our members to benefit from special conditions.
These include free account management fees, no charges for credit and debit cards, free access to the Netbanking service and personalised advice. We are grateful that these conditions are still in place and appreciated by our members.
We would like to kindly bring to your attention on an important change concerning credit card withdrawals. Please be advised that the company Viseca, your supplier and administrator of Visa and Eurocard Mastercard credit cards, has recently announced an amendment to their withdrawal policy. As of the 1 November 2024, cash withdrawals with a credit card at ATMs will be subject to a commission of 4% of the withdrawn amount, with a minimum of CHF 10. In case you have not yet received it, we would like to kindly remind you that the standard letter sent by Viseca is available via the following link[1].
Until now, thanks to the direct debit option activated via BCGE, cash withdrawals were free of charge and the amounts were debited directly from the current account, appearing on the account statement rather than on the credit card statement.
The new fees introduced by VISECA represent a significant change. This change is not attributable to BCGE. The Staff Association is in active discussions with BCGE to explore alternative solutions that would allow our members to continue to withdraw at no charge from ATMs (with the exception of those belonging to La Poste, which have always charged for withdrawals regardless of the card used. La Poste's ATM network has always had specific terms and conditions).
We will keep you informed of any developments and of the solutions we may implement in collaboration with BCGE to maintain your special conditions.
