Call for donations: support victims of Spain’s devastating floods

On October 29, 2024, Valencia and Albacete experienced the worst floods of the century. Over 200 lives have been lost, homes and businesses have been destroyed, and entire communities are struggling to recover.

Other municipalities, including Mira in Cuenca, Álora in Málaga, and Jerez de la Frontera in Cádiz, have also suffered severe damage.

In response to this extraordinary crisis, the Staff Association has partnered with Cáritas in Spain, which has launched the "Emergency Response to Severe Flooding in Spain" initiative. Cáritas teams are working tirelessly in the affected regions to provide long-term assistance to help develop plans to restore livelihoods and rebuild damaged infrastructure, as well as providing medium- and long-term support to affected families and communities.

To help the victims, the Staff Association is launching a two-week donation campaign starting today. We are calling on your generosity to support reconstruction efforts in the affected areas.

All funds raised will be donated to Cáritas, whose commitment to the peace and security of populations facing serious crises has been recognised by the European Commission and the Council of Europe.

Your help will help rebuild lives.
