| Abstract | A method for the reconstruction and selection of long-lived charged particles is investigated. The method involves the association of a track segment in the vertex detector to a composite candidate reconstructed using the downstream tracking stations. The decay $K^+ \rightarrow \pi^+ \pi^- \pi^+$ is used as a proxy to provide a proof of principle of the method. |
