Upgrade of the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter for the High-Luminosity Phase of the LHC
/ Fiorini, Luca (Univ. of Valencia and CSIC (ES))
/ATLAS Collaboration
The Tile Calorimeter (TileCal), the central hadronic calorimeter of the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider, is undergoing a comprehensive electronics upgrade in preparation for the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) phase, expected to start in 2030. The HL-LHC will deliver a significantly increased instantaneous luminosity by a factor of 5 to 7.5, posing substantial challenges in terms of trigger rates, radiation tolerance, and pile-up conditions. Leveraging Inference as a Service technology for executing ML models by the Derived AOD production applications of the ATLAS experiment
/ Hu, Fengping (University of Chicago (US)) ; Ju, Xiangyang (Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. (US)) ; Stark, Giordon Holtsberg (University of California,Santa Cruz (US)) ; Tsulaia, Vakhtang (Lawrence Berkeley National Lab. (US))

To address this challenge and prepare for the transition to large, resource-intensive ML models, we propose leveraging AthenaTriton for DAOD production, where these ML models are executed on dedicated computing resources. AthenaTriton is a tool for running ML inference as a service in Athena using the NVIDIA Triton server software. [...]

German computing sites play a vital role in the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) job processing and data storage as part of the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid (WLCG). The storage and computing contributions of university-based Tier-2 centres in Germany are transitioning to the Helmholtz Centres and National High Performance Computing (NHR) sites, respectively, to meet the growing data and computational demands of the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC). [...]

Enhancing the Performance of the SCAB SuperSearch in the ATLAS Speakers System
/ Mira Marins, Leonardo (Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (BR))
/ATLAS Collaboration
The European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN), home to the Large Hadron Collider, hosts one of the world’s largest particle physics experiments, the ATLAS experiment. To effectively support administration, workflow management, and scientific communication within ATLAS, the Glance project was established in 2003 to provide web-based automated solutions for membership, analysis tracking, speaker nomination, and publication workflows.
