Updates on the Preliminary Electromagnetic and Mechanical Design of the Block-Coil Dipole for the Muon Collider Ring
/ Alfonso, L (INFN, Genoa) ; Bersani, A (INFN, Genoa) ; Bottura, L (CERN) ; Caiffi, B (INFN, Genoa) ; Farinon, S (INFN, Genoa) ; Mariani, F (INFN, Milan) ; Mariotto, S (INFN, Milan) ; Novelli, D (INFN, Genoa) ; Pampaloni, A (INFN, Genoa) ; Salmi, T (Tampere U.)
Within the framework of the International Muon Collider Collaboration (IMCC), a feasibility study is underway for a 10 km collider ring aiming to achieve 10 TeV of center-of-mass energy. The short muon lifetime (2.2
μ
s at rest) imposes stringent requirements on the magnets, which must be compact, high-field, and large aperture to both maximize luminosity and host the internal shielding for the muon decay products. [...]

Commissioning of a radiofrequency quadrupole cooler-buncher for collinear laser spectroscopy
/ Liu, Yin-Shen (Peking U., Beijing) ; Hu, Han-Rui (Peking U., Beijing) ; Yang, Xiao-Fei (Peking U., Beijing) ; Mei, Wen-Cong (Peking U., Beijing) ; Guo, Yang-Fan (Peking U., Beijing) ; Yan, Zhou (Peking U., Beijing) ; Chen, Shao-Jie (Peking U., Beijing) ; Bai, Shi-wei (Peking U., Beijing) ; Wang, Shu-Jing (Peking U., Beijing) ; Liu, Yong-Chao (Peking U., Beijing) et al.
A RadioFrequency Quadrupole (RFQ) cooler-buncher system has been developed and implemented in a collinear laser spectroscopy setup. This system is dedicated to convert a continuous ion beam into short bunches, while enhancing beam quality and reducing energy spread. [...]

Conceptual Design and Technology Demonstration Program of the SHiP Spectrometer MgB$_{2}$ Magnet
/ Baudin, Lucie (CERN) ; Ballarino, Amalia (CERN) ; De Sousa, Patricia Borges (CERN) ; Bourcey, Nicolas (CERN) ; Chatron, Cyril (CERN) ; Devred, Arnaud (CERN) ; Izquierdo Bermudez, Susana (CERN) ; Jacobsson, Richard (CERN) ; Koettig, Torsten (CERN) ; Mangiarotti, Franco Julio (CERN) et al.
The SHiP experiment, to be located at CERN in the ECN3 North Area cavern, aims at detecting feebly interacting particles, potentially shedding light on neutrino mass and dark matter. A key component of the detector is the Hidden Sector
Spectrometer, potentially the first large-scale, energy-efficient experimental magnet relying on superconducting MgB2 cables. [...]

Milan (main)) et al.
Canted Cosine Theta magnets are a very promising
layout for applications in small accelerator systems, for example
for the gantries needed at hadron therapy facilities. A 1-meter-long,
straight and combined function magnet demonstrator with 80 mm
aperture diameter, 4 T central field and 5 T/m quadrupole com-
ponent is under development in the framework of the European-
funded project IFAST. [...]
