Track Finding and Neural Network-Based Primary Vertex Reconstruction with FPGAs for the Upgrade of the CMS Level-1 Trigger System / Brown, Christopher Edward (Imperial Coll., London) /CMS Collaboration
The CMS experiment will be upgraded to take advantage of the rich and ambitious physics opportunities provided by the High Luminosity LHC. Part of this upgrade will see the first level (Level-1) trigger use charged particle tracks from the full outer silicon tracker as an input for the first time. [...]

The CMS Trigger System / Dordevic, Milos (VINCA Inst. Nucl. Sci., Belgrade) /CMS Collaboration
The CMS Experiment at CERN uses a two-stage triggering system composed of the Level-1 (L1), instrumented with custom-designed hardware boards with an output rate of 100 kHz, and the High Level Trigger (HLT), streamlined version of the offline software reconstruction that runs on the computing farm, allowing to store around 1.5 kHz rate. New trigger algorithms and new features, as well as an optimized trigger menus at both L1 and HLT are mandatory in order to be able to successfully record the events at higher data loads due to increasing luminosity and pileup at the LHC in Run 3. A 40 MHz Level-1 trigger scouting system for the CMS Phase-2 upgrade / Rabady, Dinyar Sebastian (CERN) /CMS Collaboration
The CMS Phase-2 upgrade for the HL-LHC aims at preserving and expanding the current physics capability of the experiment under extreme pileup conditions. A new tracking system incorporates a track finder processor, providing tracks to the Level-1 (L1) trigger. [...]

Performance of triple-GEM detectors for the CMS Phase-2 upgrade measured in test beam / Pellecchia, Antonello (INFN, Bari ; Bari U.) /CMS Collaboration
Triple-GEM detectors for the GE2/1 and ME0 stations of the endcap muon system for the Phase-2 upgrade of the CMS experiment have been operated in a test beam to measure their efficiency and spatial resolution, together with a high spatial resolution triple-GEM tracker. A production module of GE2/1 detectors and a prototype ME0 detector show excellent local efficiency. [...]

The CMS Tracker for the High Luminosity LHC / Rossi, Alessandro (INFN, Perugia ; Perugia U.) /CMS Collaboration
The LHC machine is planning an upgrade program which will smoothly bring the instantaneous luminosity to about $5-7.5\times10^{34}$\,cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$, to reach an integrated luminosity of $3000-4500$\,fb$^{-1}$ by the end of 2039. This High Luminosity LHC scenario, HL-LHC, will require an upgrade program of the LHC detectors known as Phase-2 upgrade. [...]

Novel GEM foil layout for high-rate particle environment in the CMS ME0 muon detector / Cagnotta, Antimo (INFN, Naples ; Naples U.) /CMS Collaboration
Triple GEM technology has been selected to extend the acceptance of the CMS muon spectrometer to the region $2.4<\vert\eta\vert< 2.8$, the so called ME0 project. The ME0 stations will be formed by stacks (six-layer stations) of triple-GEM chambers, which must operate in a harsh environment with expected background particle fluxes ranging between 3 and 150 kHz/cm$^2$ on the chamber surface. Top quark pair and single top cross sections and ttX (CMS) / Verma, Ravindra Kumar (Florida Inst. Tech.) /CMS Collaboration
Latest results on inclusive and differential top quark pair and single top quark production cross sections are presented using proton-proton collision data collected by the CMS experiment. The differential cross sections are measured as a function of various kinematic observables of the top quarks and the jets and leptons of the event final state. [...]

CMS Phase-2 Inner Tracker Upgrade / Malik, Sudhir (Puerto Rico U., Mayaguez) /CMS Collaboration
The HL-LHC conditions of instantaneous peak luminosity up to 7.5x10$^{34}$ cm$^{-2}$ s$^{-1}$ and an integrated luminosity of the order of 300 fb$^{-1}$\slash year is expected to result in 1 MeV neutron equivalent fluence of 2.3 x 10$^{16}$ n$_{eq}$\slash cm$^{2}$ and a total ionizing dose (TID) of 12 MGy (1.2 Grad) at the center of the CMS Experiment, where its innermost component, the Phase-2 Pixel Detector will be installed. This detector has to survive the above radiation dose, handle hit rates of 3.2 GHz\slash cm${^2}$ in the layers closest to the beam line, be able to track and separate particles in extremely dense collisions, deal with a pileup of 140-200 collisions per bunch crossing and have a high impact parameter resolution. Quality Inspection Aspects of Hybrid Prototypes for the CMS Outer Tracker Upgrade at HL-LHC / La Rosa, Alessandro (CERN) ; Figueiredo De Sa Sousa De Almeida, Joao Pedro (CERN) ; Ahmed, I ; Blanchot, Georges (CERN) ; Cooperstein, Stephane B (UC, San Diego) ; Honma, Alan (Brown U.) ; Kovacs, Mark Istvan (CERN) ; Mateos Dominguez, Irene (CERN) ; Zografos, Angelos (Natl. Tech. U., Athens)
At the High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC), the CMS experiment will need to operate at up to 200 interactions per 25\,ns beam crossing time and with up to 4000\,fb$^{-1}$ of integrated luminosity. To achieve the physics goals the experiment needs to improve the tracking resolution and the ability to selectively trigger on specific physics events. The CMS tracker upgrade requires designing a new detector to cope with the HL-LHC conditions. [...]

New constraints on PDFs, strong coupling, and SMEFT results using CMS jet data / Makela, Toni (DESY) /CMS Collaboration
Measurements of the double-differential inclusive jet cross sections and triple-differential top quark-antiquark pair production cross sections have been performed at the center of mass energy of 13 TeV by the CMS Collaboration. The results of these measurements are used together with the data of inclusive deep inelastic scattering to extract the proton parton distribution functions, the top quark mass and the strong coupling constant.
