CP measurement of the Higgs-tau coupling / Hassanshahi, Mohammad Hassan (Imperial Coll., London) /CMS Collaboration The Standard Model predicts that the Higgs boson is even under charge-parity inversion. In this report, we explain the result of the first direct measurement of the CP structure of the Yukawa coupling between the Higgs boson and tau leptons. CMS measurements of EFT parameters with top quarks / Tonon, Nicolas (DESY) /CMS Collaboration Measurements carried out or reinterpreted within the framework of effective field theory (EFT) will constitute a key component of the LHC legacy in the quest towards physics beyond the standard model. Numerous EFT measurements were already published by the CMS Collaboration. In the top quark sector, four distinct approaches to EFT have been identified, each successfully applied in several analyses. We review the pros and cons of each approach, while illustrating them with recent analyses in which they were adopted.. CMS-CR-2020-276.- Geneva : CERN, 2020 - 7 p. Measurements of ${\rm t\bar t+jets}$, ${\rm t\bar t+b\bar b}$ production, and ${\rm t\bar tt\bar t}$ production at CMS / Castro, Andrea (INFN, Bologna ; Bologna U.) /CMS Collaboration The most recent CMS measurements of the production of ${\rm t\bar t}$ pairs with two additional jets, or two additional b quarks, are presented. These two processes are important for several reasons: they can allow a better modeling of Monte Carlo simulations, because of the different energy scale associated to b-jets and generic jets; they are important backgrounds to other standard model processes; and they might be related to new physics. Performance of CMS Endcap Precision Timing Sensors / Lazarovits, Margaret (Kansas U.) /CMS Collaboration The Large Hadron Collider, a particle accelerator in Geneva, Switzerland, will enter its High Luminosity (HL) phase, whose upgrade has already started. This phase will include an increase in particle collisions, achieving instantaneous luminosities of 5 to 7 times the nominal luminosity, $1~\times~10^{34}$~cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$. Review of results on forward physics and diffraction by CMS / Baldenegro Barrera, Cristian (Kansas U.) /CMS Collaboration Results by the CMS Collaboration on forward physics, diffraction, and physics in the small-$x$ limit of quantum chromodynamics (QCD), are presented. In particular, results on azimuthal angle decorrelations between two jets in events where two outermost jets are separated by a large rapidity interval are discussed. Higgs Physics Within and Beyond the Standard Model at CMS / Asmuss, Paul (DESY) /CMS Collaboration Ever since a new boson was found at a mass of 125 GeV in 2012, this particle has been studied intensively. So far, all measurements agree with the Standard Model predictions and the particle is assumed to be the Higgs boson. [...] CMS-CR-2019-279.- Geneva : CERN, 2019 - 13 p. Characterisation of planar and 3D Silicon pixel sensors for the high luminosity phase of the CMS experiment at LHC / Ceccarelli, Rudy (INFN, Florence ; Florence U.) ; Meschini, Marco (INFN, Florence) ; Viliani, Lorenzo (INFN, Florence) ; Dinardo, Mauro (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Milan Bicocca U.) ; Gennai, Simone (INFN, Milan Bicocca) ; Menasce, Dario (INFN, Milan Bicocca) ; Moroni, Luigi (INFN, Milan Bicocca) ; Zuolo, Davide (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Milan Bicocca U.) ; Lino Demaria ; Monteil, Ennio (INFN, Turin ; Turin U.) et al. The High Luminosity upgrade of the CERN LHC collider (HL-LHC) demands for a new, high-radiation tolerant solid-state pixel sensor capable of surviving fluencies up to a few $10^{16}~ \rm{n_{eq}/cm^2}$ at $\sim 3 \, \rm{cm}$ from the interaction point. To this extent the INFN ATLAS-CMS joint research activity, in collaboration with Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK), is aiming at the development of thin n-in-p type pixel sensors for the HL-LHC [...] CMS-CR-2019-169.- Geneva : CERN, 2019 - 7 p. Level-1 Muon Triggers for the CMS Experiment at the HL-LHC / Folgueras, Santiago (Oviedo U.) /CMS Collaboration The High Luminosity upgrade of the CERN Large Hadron Collider will deliver proton-proton collisions at 14 TeV with instantaneous luminosities up to $7.5\times 10^{34}$ cm$^{-2}$s$^{-1}$. The physics program of the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) Experiment strongly depends on the ability to identify muons at an early trigger stage, over a momentum range spanning from few GeV to the TeV scale. Searches for new heavy particles coupling to third-generation quarks at CMS / Reimers, Arne (Zurich U.) /CMS Collaboration Results from searches for new particles with enhanced couplings to third generation quarks are presented. They are based on proton-proton collision data at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV recorded by the CMS experiment. [...] CMS-CR-2019-164.- Geneva : CERN, 2019 - 9 p. Single top quark production in association with a W boson in CMS / Rodriguez Bouza, Victor (Oviedo U.) /CMS Collaboration The production of a top quark in association with a W boson (tW) is one of the single top processes that takes place at LHC. The interest of this production relies on the quantum interference at NLO with the top-antitop pair production one of the most relevant processes in the LHC.
