Wasserstein normalized autoencoder
/CMS Collaboration
A novel approach to unsupervised jet tagging is presented for the CMS experiment at the CERN LHC. The Wasserstein normalized autoencoder (WNAE) is a normalized probabilistic model that minimizes the Wasserstein distance between the probability distribution of the training data and the Boltzmann distribution of the reconstruction error of the autoencoder. Search for jet quenching signature using transverse momentum balance in high-multiplicity pPb collisions at the CMS detector
/CMS Collaboration
The first measurement of the dijet transverse momentum balance ($x_{j}$) in proton-lead (pPb) collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\text{NN}}}=8.16~\mathrm{TeV}$ is presented. The analysis uses data collected by the CMS detector in 2016, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 174.6~$\,\text{nb}^\text{$-$1}$. [...]

Measurement of the W boson mass in proton-proton collisions at sqrts = 13 TeV
/CMS Collaboration
In the standard model of particle physics, the masses of the carriers of the weak interaction, the W and Z bosons, are uniquely related. Physics beyond the standard model can change this relationship through the effects of virtual particle quantum loops, thus making it of paramount importance to measure these masses with the highest possible precision. Measurement of R($J/\psi$) in the hadronic tau decay channel
/CMS Collaboration
A measurement of the ratio of branching fractions $\mathcal{R}_{\text{J}/\psi} = \mathcal{B}(\text{B}_\text{c}^{+}\to\text{J}/\psi\tau^{+}\nu_\tau) / \mathcal{B}(\text{B}_\text{c}^{+}\to\text{J}/\psi\mu^{+}\nu_\mu)$ in the decay channel with $\text{J}/\psi(\rightarrow\mu^{+}\mu^{-})$ and $\tau^{+}\rightarrow\pi^{+}\pi^{-}\pi^{+}(+\pi^{0})\bar{\nu}_{\tau}$ (and charge-conjugated processes) is presented. This measurement uses a sample of proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $138\,\mathrm{fb}^{-1}$, collected at a center-of-mass energy of $13\,\mathrm{TeV}$ by the CMS experiment in the LHC Run 2.
