The Offline 2 mass separator laboratory is part of the CERN-ISOLDE Offline facilities - a suite of installations required to perform essential quality control on target and ion source units before irradiation at CERN-ISOLDE (Catherall et al., 2017) [1]. The facility is also used for extended preparatory offline studies as a prerequisite before conducting any beam development on-line, especially establishing systematic effects. [...]

Targets and ion sources at CERN-ISOLDE — Facilities and developments / Rothe, S (CERN) ; Au, M (CERN ; Mainz U.) ; Ballof, J (CERN ; Mainz U.) ; Barbero, E (CERN) ; Bissell, M (CERN) ; Boucherie, A (CERN) ; Bovigny, M (CERN) ; Chrysalidis, K (CERN) ; Crepieux, B (CERN) ; Cruikshank, J (CERN) et al.
At the CERN-ISOLDE radioactive ion beam facility, thick targets are irradiated using a beam of 1.4-GeV protons. One of ISOLDE’s key features is the large choice of ion source types and target materials available, enabling us to select the ideal combination for optimal intensity and purity of the isotopes requested by ISOLDE users. [...]

To optimize the performance of the Collinear Resonance Ionization Spectroscopy (CRIS) experiment at CERN-ISOLDE, technical upgrades are continuously introduced, aiming to enhance its sensitivity, precision, stability, and efficiency. Recently, a voltage-scanning setup was developed and commissioned at CRIS, which improved the scanning speed by a factor of three as compared to the current laser-frequency scanning approach. [...]

We report on the development, characterization, and first application of a specialized resonance ionization laser ion source for high-resolution spectroscopy applications below usual hot cavity Doppler broadening limitations, for on-line experiments at CERN-ISOLDE. The new PI-LIST ion source comprises perpendicular laser/atom beam interaction in a radio-frequency quadrupole unit directly downstream the hot atomizer cavity. [...]

Transverse Emittance Measurements of the Beams Produced by the ISOLDE Target Ion Sources / Bidault, Niels (CERN)
The Isotope mass Separator On-Line DEvice (ISOLDE) is a Radioactive Ion Beam (RIB) facility based at CERN where rare isotopes are produced from 1.4 GeV-proton collisions with a target. The different types of targets and ion sources, operating conditions and ionization schemes used during the physics campaign results in extracted beams with various emittances. [...]

The Big Bang Nucleosynthesis (BBN) theory has been very successful in predicting the observed abundances of light elements like $^2$H, ${3,4}$He. There is, however, a serious discrepancy of a factor of about four in the observed abundance of $^7$Li as compared to that predicted by the BBN theory [1−2]. [...]
