Non-invasive Beam Diagnostic Development for FCC using Cherenkov Diffraction Radiation in Dielectric Materials / Schloegelhofer, Andreas
Cherenkov diffraction radiation (ChDR) refers to the emission of electromagnetic radiation when a charged particle travels in the vicinity of dielectric matter, and the particle’s velocity exceeds the phase velocity of electromagnetic radiation in the dielectric [...]

In the context of the High-Field Magnet (HFM) Programme, hosted at CERN, and the Swiss Accelerator Research and Technology (CHART) Initiative, hosted at PSI, the Magnet Development (MagDev) project aims to contribute to the Future Circular Collider (FCC) studies through, among others: (i) research on enabling technologies and (ii) high-field Low Temperature superconducting (LTS) and High Temperature Superconducting (HTS) magnets. After a first experience with the CD1 magnet, a Canted-Cosine-Theta (CCT) Nb3Sn demonstrator, a roadmap has been established with milestones ranging from enabling technologies tested in powered samples and coils, to ultimate-field and hybrid LTS/HTS short magnets. Effect of Irradiation Temperature and Atmosphere on Aging of Epoxy Resins for Superconducting Magnets / Parragh, David Mate (CERN) ; Scheuerlein, Christian (CERN) ; Martin, Noémie (Lyon U.) ; Piccin, Roland (CERN) ; Ravotti, Federico (CERN) ; Pezzullo, Giuseppe (CERN) ; Koettig, Torsten (CERN) ; Lellinger, Dirk (Unlisted, DE)
The superconducting magnets of future particle accelerators will be exposed to high irradiation doses at cryogenic temperatures. To investigate the effect of irradiation temperature and atmosphere on the aging behavior, we have characterized the changes in thermomechanical properties of six epoxy resins for potential use in superconducting magnets after irradiation up to 20 MGy in ambient air, inert gas, and liquid helium. Nonlinear Surface Impedance of HTS in High Magnetic Fields / Vaglio, Ruggero (CNR-SPIN, Naples) ; Krkotić, Patrick (CERN) ; Calatroni, Sergio (CERN)
Recently envisaged high-temperature superconductor (HTS) applications rely on their radio-frequency properties in very high magnetic fields. As an example, coating of surfaces facing particle beams with HTS for reducing the beam coupling impedance is being considered for the next generation of hadron colliders, such as the FCC-hh at CERN, where HTS would be exposed to the high-frequency wakefields generated by the particle bunches and to the strong field (>16 T) of the steering magnets. FCC circumference studies based on RF synchronization / Zhang, L H (Hefei, CUST) ; Damerau, H (CERN) ; Karpov, I (CERN) ; Vanel, A L (CERN)
As the study of the Future Circular Collider (FCC) projectprogresses, the choice of the exact circumference of the acceleratortunnel becomes essential. It is defined by RF-related constraints, mainly the RF frequency of the FCC-hh, as well as the revolutionfrequency ratios with the hadron injector. [...]
