Thermodynamic and technological optimization of complex cryogenic insulation systems / Venturi, Valentina Future accelerators like the Future Circular Collider (FCC) [24] under study at CERN, will be considerably larger than the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) [18] presently in operation, with consequently increasing demands for cryogenically ef- ficient cryostat solutions [...] CERN-THESIS-2020-367 - Wrocław : POLITECHNIKA WROCŁAWSKA WYDZIAŁ MECHANICZNO-ENERGETYCZNY, 2019-04-01. - 104 p.

Da LHC a FCC: Un nuovo sistema di acceleratori per il futuro della fisica delle alte Energie / Tonelli, Guido (INFN, Pisa ; Pisa U. ; CERN) The discovery of the Higgs boson marks the triumph of the Standard Model of fundamental interactions. However, despite the unquestionable success, the theory contains no convincing explanation for dark matter and dark energy, asymmetry between matter and antimatter and other important phenomena that characterize our universe. New physics at the FCC-ee: indirect discovery potential / de Blas, Jorge (Granada U., Theor. Phys. Astrophys. ; Durham U., IPPP) We review the projected sensitivity to physics beyond the Standard Model via indirect searches at the Future e+e− Circular Collider (FCC-ee). The indirect sensitivity to new physics is discussed both from a model-independent perspective, using the formalism of Effective Field Theories, but also from the point of view of more specific classes of well-motivated models.. 2021 - 8 p. - Published in : Eur. FCC-ee: the synthesis of a long history of e+e- circular colliders / Oide, K (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Wenninger, J (CERN) The design of FCC-ee is relying on the accumulated experience of $\mathrm {e^{+}e^{-}}$ colliders that have been designed, constructed and operated in the past 40 years. FCC-ee will surpass the 26.7 km long Large Electron Positron collider LEP by a factor 4 in size. [...] 2021 - 7 p. - Published in : Eur. Phys. J. Phase Evolution During Heat Treatment of Nb$_3$Sn Wires Under Development for the FCC Study / Hopkins, Simon C (CERN) ; Baskys, Algirdas (CERN) ; Ballarino, Amalia (CERN) ; Lachmann, Jonas (TU Bergakademie Freiberg) ; Leineweber, Andreas (TU Bergakademie Freiberg) In recent years, the phase formation sequence during heat treatment of Nb$_3$Sn wires, and the influence of the microstructure and compositional homogeneity of Nb$_3$Sn on in-field critical current ($I_c$), have received increasing attention. For RRP wires, the importance of understanding and managing the formation of the ternary phase nausite has been demonstrated. [...] 2021 - 6 p. - Published in : IEEE Trans. Appl. Bright Ångstrom and picometer free electron laser based on the Large Hadron electron Collider energy recovery linac / Nergiz, Z. (Nigde U.) ; Mirian, N.S. (CERN ; DESY) ; Aksoy, A. (Ankara U.) ; Zhou, D. (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Zimmermann, F. (CERN) ; Aksakal, H. (Kahramanmaras U.) The Large Hadron electron Collider (LHeC) is a proposed future particle-physics project colliding 60 GeV electrons from a six-pass recirculating energy-recovery Linac (ERL) with 7 TeV protons stored in the LHC. The ERL technology allows for much higher beam current and, therefore, higher luminosity than a traditional Linac. [...] arXiv:2107.13331.- 2021-10-01 - 13 p. - Published in : Phys. Rev. Accel. High-Temperature Superconductor Coatings for Beam Impedance Reduction in Particle Colliders: Nonlinear Effects / Calatroni, Sergio (CERN) ; Vaglio, Ruggero (CNR-SPIN, Naples ; INFN, Naples) Coating of surfaces facing particle beams with hightemperature superconductors (HTS) for reducing the beam coupling impedance is being considered for the next generation of hadron colliders, such as the FCC-hh at CERN, where HTS would be exposed to the high-frequency wakefields generated by the particle bunches and to the strong field of the steering magnets. In this frame, we present a simple model for the calculation of the microwave response of HTS exposed to a strong external magnetic field, which takes into account the nonlinearity of the pinning potential of the vortex lattice.
