From scattering towards multi-hadron weak decays / Erben, Felix (CERN)
In this article I provide an overview of the current state of scattering within lattice QCD, along with ongoing projects that examine weak decays involving scattering states as either final or intermediate states. Significant progress has been made in the study of multi-hadron weak decays, opening the door for scattering calculations to make meaningful contributions to flavour physics and further establishing lattice QCD as the key non-perturbative tool for QCD predictions. Update on two-level sampling for glueball observables in quenched QCD / Barca, Lorenzo (NIC, Zeuthen) ; Finkenrath, Jacob (CERN) ; Knechtli, Francesco (Wuppertal U.) ; Peardon, Michael J. (Trinity Coll., Dublin) ; Schaefer, Stefan (NIC, Zeuthen) ; Urrea-Niño, Juan Andrés (Wuppertal U.)
We report our progress in combining a two-level sampling algorithm with distillation techniques for calculations of disconnected diagrams in quenched QCD. The simulations are performed on a single ensemble at $\beta=6.0$ and volume $V=16^3\times 64$, and at a pion mass of $m_\pi\approx 760~\mathrm{MeV}$..

Hessian-free force-gradient integrators and their application to lattice QCD simulations / Schäfers, Kevin (Wuppertal U.) ; Finkenrath, Jacob (Wuppertal U. ; CERN) ; Günther, Michael (Wuppertal U.) ; Knechtli, Francesco (Wuppertal U.)
We present initial results on Hessian-free force-gradient integrators for lattice field theories. Integrators of this framework promise to provide substantial performance enhancements, particularly for larger lattice volumes where higher-order integrators demonstrate greater efficiency. [...]

Is gauge mediation in the swampland? / Dalianis, Ioannis (Athens U.) ; Farakos, Fotis (Padua U. ; INFN, Padua) ; Kehagias, Alex (Natl. Tech. U., Athens)
We note that the typical gauge mediation of supersymmetry breaking is in tension with the global limit of the festina lente swampland bound. The alternatives are mediation/breaking schemes that decouple together with gravity, as for example gravity mediation, for which we highlight some basic phenomenological properties. [...]

Centralized design and production of the ultra-high vacuum and laser-stabilization systems for the AION ultra-cold strontium laboratories / AION Collaboration
This paper outlines the centralised design and production of the Ultra-High-Vacuum sidearm and Laser-Stabilisation systems for the AION Ultra-Cold Strontium Laboratories. Commissioning data on the residual gas and steady-state pressures in the sidearm chambers, on magnetic field quality, on laser stabilisation, and on the loading rate for the 3D Magneto-Optical Trap are presented. Are Parton Showers Inside a Quark-Gluon Plasma Strongly Coupled? A Theorist's Test / Arnold, Peter (Virginia U.) ; Elgedawy, Omar (Virginia U. ; South China Normal U. ; Cape Town U., Dept. Math. ; Guangzhou U.) ; Iqbal, Shahin (Quaid-i-Azam U. ; CERN)
We study whether in-medium showers of high-energy quarks and gluons can be treated as a sequence of individual splitting processes or whether there is significant quantum overlap between where one splitting ends and the next begins. Accounting for the Landau-Pomeranchuk-Migdal (LPM) effect, we calculate such overlap effects to leading order in high-energy $\alpha_s(\mu)$ for the simplest theoretical situation. [...]

Top-quark pole mass extraction at NNLO accuracy / Alekhin, Sergey (Hamburg U., Inst. Theor. Phys. II) ; Garzelli, Maria Vittoria (Hamburg U., Inst. Theor. Phys. II ; CERN) ; Mazzitelli, Javier (PSI, Villigen) ; Moch, Sven-Olaf (Hamburg U., Inst. Theor. Phys. II) ; Zenaiev, Oleksandr (Hamburg U., Inst. Theor. Phys. II)
We describe our recent NNLO QCD extraction of the top-quark pole mass from fits to experimental data on total inclusive and normalized (multi)-differential cross sections for $t\bar{t} + X$ hadroproduction, using as input various modern PDF + $\alpha_s(M_Z)$ sets. We find top-quark mass values compatible among each other and with the PDG 2024 preferred value..

NNLO fits of top-quark mass using total, single-differential and double-differential $t\bar{t}+X$ cross-section data / Alekhin, Sergey (Hamburg U., Inst. Theor. Phys. II) ; Garzelli, Maria Vittoria (Hamburg U., Inst. Theor. Phys. II ; CERN ; Cagliari U.) ; Mazzitelli, Javier (PSI, Villigen) ; Moch, Sven-Olaf (Hamburg U., Inst. Theor. Phys. II) ; Zenaiev, Oleksandr (Hamburg U., Inst. Theor. Phys. II)
We describe the fits of the top-quark mass value at NNLO using as input the double-differential distributions in rapidity and invariant mass of $t\bar{t}$ pairs obtained by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations from unfolding of their experimental data to the parton level, compared to NNLO theory predictions. We consider different state-of-the-art PDF sets, finding results of the fits compatible among each other within uncertainties. [...]
