We describe our recent NNLO QCD extraction of the top-quark pole mass from fits to experimental data on total inclusive and normalized (multi)-differential cross sections for $t\bar{t} + X$ hadroproduction, using as input various modern PDF + $\alpha_s(M_Z)$ sets. We find top-quark mass values compatible among each other and with the PDG 2024 preferred value..

NNLO fits of top-quark mass using total, single-differential and double-differential $t\bar{t}+X$ cross-section data
/ Alekhin, Sergey (Hamburg U., Inst. Theor. Phys. II) ; Garzelli, Maria Vittoria (Hamburg U., Inst. Theor. Phys. II ; CERN ; Cagliari U.) ; Mazzitelli, Javier (PSI, Villigen) ; Moch, Sven-Olaf (Hamburg U., Inst. Theor. Phys. II) ; Zenaiev, Oleksandr (Hamburg U., Inst. Theor. Phys. II)
We describe the fits of the top-quark mass value at NNLO using as input the double-differential distributions in rapidity and invariant mass of $t\bar{t}$ pairs obtained by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations from unfolding of their experimental data to the parton level, compared to NNLO theory predictions. We consider different state-of-the-art PDF sets, finding results of the fits compatible among each other within uncertainties. [...]

Two-loop amplitudes for $\mathcal{O}(\alpha_s^2)$ corrections to $W\gamma\gamma$ production at the LHCTwo-loop amplitudes for $ \mathcal{O}\left({\alpha}_s^2\right) $ corrections to Wγγ production at the LHC
/ Badger, Simon (INFN, Turin) ; Hartanto, Heribertus Bayu (APCTP, Pohang ; POSTECH) ; Wu, Zihao (HIAS, UCAS, Hangzhou) ; Zhang, Yang (Hefei, CUST ; PCFT, Hefei) ; Zoia, Simone (CERN)
We present the two-loop helicity amplitudes contributing to the next-to-next-to-leading order QCD predictions for W-boson production in association with two photons at the Large Hadron Collider. We derived compact analytic expressions for the two-loop amplitudes in the leading colour limit, and provide numerical results for the subleading colour contributions. [...]

R-matrices and Miura operators in 5d Chern-Simons theory
/ Ishtiaque, Nafiz (IHES, Bures-sur-Yvette) ; Jeong, Saebyeok (CERN) ; Zhou, Yehao (Tokyo U., IPMU)
We derive Miura operators for $W$- and $Y$-algebras from first principles as the expectation value of the intersection between a topological line defect and a holomorphic surface defect in 5-dimensional non-commutative $\mathfrak{gl}(1)$ Chern-Simons theory. The expectation value, viewed as the transition amplitude for states in the defect theories forming representations of the affine Yangian of $\mathfrak{gl}(1)$, satisfies the Yang-Baxter equation and is thus interpreted as an R-matrix. Gravitational Waves from High Temperature Strings

We study finite temperature effects in string cosmology and their potential gravitational wave signature. Expanding on our recent work arXiv:2310.11494 , we consider a general configuration of highly excited open and closed strings at high enough temperature to be in the Hagedorn phase in 3+1 dimensions, in order to explore its cosmological implications.
