For its 18th meeting, the international conference dedicated to information and communication technologies (IT)
applied to environmental protection and sustainable development has choosen to promote « sh@ring » as its main axis :

  • Sharing knowledge, insisting on the necessity to promote actions of knowledge transfer in respect of the principles of sustainable development (North/South transfers, knowledge sharing, web-research promotion, private and public partnerships, ...) ;
  • Sharing data, aiming for better tranparency of the information to the public and improving the data flow between administrations (sharing environment knowledge, health and risk hazards, ...)

The 94 planned conferences will focus around topics such as health and environment, technological risks, web and information systems, new developments in the way of knowledge transfers and sharing of scientific or environmental databases.
The event is organized by the State of Geneva (Department of Interior, Agriculture and Environment - DIAE), in partnership with numerous regional, national, european and international institutions, as well as private companies active in information and communication technologies (IT).
Some 400 participants, from Europe, North America, Asia and Africa, are expected in Geneva. Scientists, economists, either from international organizations, Civil Service or ONGs will debate over the latest breakthroughs in research, development and practice.
Registration : through the website of the conference (under « registration/ public »). Whatever the date of registration, CERN personnel benefit from a preferential price (420 CHF for 3 days, 250 CHF for one day), including meals land break costs.
