start-up for the LHC

A new schedule for the commissioning of the LHC was presented to the Council at its Session in June. The start-up of the accelerator is scheduled for May 2008, to allow all technical problems to be resolved. >>

Ted Wilson is a world-renowned expert on particle accelerators and a brilliant speaker. He came to CERN in 1967, where he worked on the SPS and collaborated closely with John Adams, taking part in the design and commissioning of the accelerator. >>
