Start of enrolment for the Champs-Fréchets crèche (EVE)

As announced in Bulletin 43/2007, CERN signed an agreement with the commune of Meyrin on 17 October 2007 under which 20 places will be reserved for the children of CERN personnel in the Champs-Fréchets day care centre (EVE), which will open on Monday, 25 August, and CERN will contribute to the funding.

This agreement allows members of the CERN personnel (employees and associates) access to the crèche, for children aged between 4 months and 4 years, irrespective of where they are living.

Applications for the school year starting autumn 2008 will be accepted from Monday 17 March until Monday 30 June 2008.

Members of the personnel must complete the enrolment formalities with the Meyrin infant education service themselves:

Application forms (in PDF) can be downloaded from the website of the commune of Meyrin. They must be returned by post or e-mail, accompanied by a recto/verso copy of the valid "carte de légitimation" or "attestation de fonctions", and will not be registered until all the required documents have been produced.

No applications will be accepted before Monday, 17 March.

Places will be allocated by the commune of Meyrin on a first-come first-served basis according to the order in which applications are registered. Where possible, priority will be given to parents who already have a child in the crèche and to single-parent families and every effort will be made to accommodate families with more than one child. The Meyrin infant education service will send out letters of confirmation, together with practical details, as of 15 April. Members of the personnel who have not been successful and those who apply after 30 June will be placed on a waiting list.
