Change of public transport services for CERN

07-12-2007.

From 9 December onwards, the Number 9 bus, which used to run from Petit-Bel-Air all the way through to CERN, will terminate at Cornavin. With the first stretch of the new Cornavin-Meyrin-CERN tram route now in service, trams 14 and 16 will run from Cornavin to Avanchet (next to the Balexert shopping centre). During construction of the section through to Meyrin and CERN, two new bus services will be available from Avanchet, the 55 to Meyrin Village and the 56 to CERN.

The Y bus route has been modified between Blandonnet and the Hôpital de la Tour: buses will no longer transit via Meyrin-Village but via the Meyrin-Satigny business park. The Y bus route has also been extended from Blandonnet to Avanchet so as to establish a connection with the tram routes 14 and 16.

To get to CERN from Cornavin station during this period, you should therefore take a number 14 or 16 tram and then a number 56 bus.
