| Abstract | This note describes the algorithms used for the reconstruction and identification of prompt electrons in the central region of the ATLAS detector for the $pp$ collisions data collected in 2012 at $\sqrt{\mathrm{s}}$ = 8 TeV. The efficiency of these algorithms is measured using $Z\rightarrow ee$, $Z\rightarrow ee\gamma$ and $J/\psi\rightarrow ee$ decays using the full dataset, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 20.3 fb$^{-1}$. |
