| Abstract | ATLAS has a wide programme to study the production cross section and decay properties of the charmonium and bottomonium states. This presentation will cover latest ATLAS results, extending upon previous measurements in precision and kinematic reach, in the domain of charmonium production, including J/psi, psi(2s) and chi_c states, as well as exotic state X(3872) and search for its bottomonium couterpart X_b in several possible decay channels. These rare production modes provide novel insight into the mechanisms of charmonium production and the impact of proton structure on these observables. |
