Abstract The quark–gluon plasma (QGP) modifies the dynamics of heavy quarks, impacting their azimuthal distributions and transverse momentum ($\mathrm{p}_r$) spectra. Consequently, the azimuthal anisotropy coefficients ($v_n$) and nuclear modification factors ($R_{AA}$) of heavy-flavor hadrons serve as key observables for exploring QGP properties. The elliptic flow coefficient ($v_2$) reflects collective expansion and path-length-dependent energy loss, while the triangular flow coefficient ($v_3$) arises from initial-state geometry fluctuations and probes the sensitivity to these spatial inhomogeneities. We present measurements of $v_2$ and $v_3$ for prompt and non-prompt D0 mesons in PbPb collisions at $\sqrt{^{S}NN}$ = 5.02 TeV, using data recorded by the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment. These results, studied as functions of pT and collision centrality, offer insight into charm and bottom quark interactions with the QGP and provide important input for constraining heavy-quark transport models.
