Manufacture and QC of the ATLAS Inner Tracker (ITk) pixel quad module flex
/ Bates, R (Glasgow U.) ; Naik, S (Glasgow U.)
/ATLAS ITK Collaboration
ITk hybrid pixel detector consists of about 10,000 planar “quad” modules formed from 4 ASICs, (developed within the RD53 collaboration) bump bonded to a single sensor. The flexible PCB attached to the sensor connects the ASICs to the system and provides module electrical environment. To guarantee a long-term reliability in the harsh HL-LHC environment, a tight quality control is mandatory.Using three bare flex and three population vendors the populated flexes are manufactured as per IPC standards,Quality Control (QC) protocols were developed to maintain quality and maximize module yield. We describe in detail the QC tests and key results..

Charge collection parameterization of MALTA2, a depleted monolithic active pixel sensor
/ Fasselt, L (DESY ; Humboldt U., Berlin (main)) ; Behera, P (Indian Inst. Tech., Madras) ; Berlea, D V (DESY ; Humboldt U., Berlin (main)) ; Bortoletto, D (U. Oxford (main)) ; Buttar, C (Glasgow U.) ; Chembakan, T (Indian Inst. Tech., Madras) ; Dao, V (Stony Brook U.) ; Dash, G (Indian Inst. Tech., Madras) ; Haberl, S (CERN) ; Inada, T (CERN) et al.
A fast simulation method is presented for a depleted monolithic active pixel sensor, which uses a data driven parameterization of the charge collection and propagation. This approach provides an efficient alternative to TCAD simulations, particularly for sensors whose proprietary process details - such as doping profiles or implant geometries - are unavailable. Design of the ATLAS Inner Tracker (ITk) upgrade pixel module quad flex PCB
/ Naik, S (Glasgow U.) ; Bates, R (Glasgow U.)
/ATLAS ITK Collaboration
The ITk pixel detector consists of “quad” and “triplet” modules with the triplet being used in the innermost layer L0 and quads used in layers L1-L4. The detector primarily consists of 10,000 planar quad module, formed from 4 chips, (developed within the RD53collaboration) bump bonded to a single sensor operated in serial power chains. [...]

MOnolithic Stitched sensor with Timing (MOST): design overview and measurements highlights
/ ALICE Collaboration
The MOST (Monolithic Stitched Sensor with Timing) is a 26 cm long wafer-scale pixel sensor prototype that bridges generic R&D; for future High Energy Physics (HEP) detectors with the developments aimed for the ALICE Inner Tracking System (ITS3).Its main purpose is to investigate the yield of high-density pixel architectures, assess the timing capabilities of asynchronous readout, investigate an alternative sensor biasing scheme, evaluate yield enhancing power segmentation and verify a robust bias distribution method resilient to fluctuations of supply voltages. This contribution presents both the design overview of the MOST chip and key measurements that validate its functionality and performance..

In the new era of HL-LHC experiments, fast-timing detectors are emerging as critical tools for background rejection. Typical requirements include a temporal hit resolution of about 50 ps, a spatial resolution of around 12 $μ$m, and radiation hardness up to $10^{17}$n$_\text{eq}$/cm$^2$. [...]

Optimization of 3D diamond detectors with graphitized electrodes based on an innovative numerical simulation
/ Anderlini, Lucio (INFN, Florence) ; Bombini, Alessandro (INFN, Florence) ; Buti, Clarissa (INFN, Florence ; U. Florence (main)) ; Janssens, Djunes (CERN) ; Lagomarsino, Stefano (U. Florence (main)) ; Passaleva, Giovanni (INFN, Florence) ; Veltri, Michele (INFN, Florence ; Urbino U.)
Future experiments at hadron colliders require an evolution of the tracking sensors to ensure sufficient radiation hardness as well as space and time resolution to handle unprecedented particle fluxes. 3D diamond sensors with laser-graphitized electrodes are promising candidates due to their strong binding energy, small atomic number, and high carrier mobility.
