Advancing Radiation Hardness Assurance at CERN: Improved HEH Sensor for Enhanced Radiation Monitoring and Reliability System Study / Zimmaro, Alessandro (CERN) ; Ferraro, Rudy (CERN) ; Fiore, Salvatore (CERN) ; Lerner, Giuseppe (CERN) ; Masi, Alessandro (CERN) ; Danzeca, Salvatore (CERN)
In the large hadron collider (LHC), it is essential to provide repeatable high energy hadron (HEH) measurements with reduced uncertainty to accurately track HEH trends as a function of machine operations and tunnel configurations. This level of precision is crucial not only for understanding the machine’s behavior, but also for defining radiation qualification requirements for systems installed in the accelerator. [...]

Analysis of High-Energy Heavy-Ion SEE Results Through Standard-Energy Ion SEE Data / Sacristan Barbero, Mario (IES, Montpellier ; CERN) ; Slipukhin, Ivan (IES, Montpellier ; CERN) ; Söderström, Daniel (CERN) ; Emriskova, Natalia (CERN) ; Waets, Andreas (CERN) ; Bilko, Kacper (CERN) ; Prelipcean, Daniel (Unlisted, DE) ; Coronetti, Andrea (CERN ; Unlisted, DE) ; Kettunen, Heikki (Jyvaskyla U.) ; Sivertz, Michael (Brookhaven) et al.
This work presents the results of several single- event effect (SEE) measurements (bit upsets, latch-up, and burn-out) performed in two SEE testing facilities, European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and NASA Space Radiation Laboratory (NSRL) (100–1000 MeV/n), using high- energy heavy ions. The results are compared with those obtained at other SEE facilities using standard-energy ions, Radiation Effects Facility (RADEF), UCL, and GANIL (<50 MeV/n). [...]

Multi-Gsps ADC radiation qualification for the LHC BPM system consolidation / Barros Marin, M (CERN) ; Boccardi, A (CERN) ; Can Ozdogan, S (CERN) ; Danzeca, S (CERN) ; Ferraro, R (CERN) ; Krupa, M (CERN) ; Scialdone, A (CERN)
The consolidation of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) Beam Position Monitor (BPM) requires digitising analogue signals from more than 1000 dual-plane BPMs using radiation-tolerant analogue-to-digital converters (ADCs). To this end, two commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) quad-channel, 12-bit ADCs operating at up to 1.6 Gsps were tested. [...]

Characterization of Muon Response of the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter Test Beam / Williams, Miranda Michelle (University of Texas at Arlington (US)) /ATLAS Collaboration
The Tile Calorimeter (TileCal) is the central hadronic calorimeter of the ATLAS experiment and is being upgraded for the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC). The new TileCal electronics for the HL-LHC upgrade is validated using the test beam setup with beams of different particles species and energies in the SPS North Experiment Area. [...]

Overview of ATLAS Tile Calorimeter Test Beam Campaigns / Zakareishvili, Tamar (Univ. of Valencia and CSIC (ES)) /ATLAS Collaboration
During the Long Shutdown 3 that will take places in years 2026 - 2030, a comprehensive upgrade of the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter system is planned to meet the challenges of a 1 MHz trigger rate, higher ambient radiation levels, and increased pile-up conditions. This upgrade involves a complete replacement of both on- and off-detector electronics, along with the replacement of approximately 10% of the photomultiplier tubes in the most exposed detector cells. [...]

Observation of lower hardness factor for displacement damage induced by high-energy electrons / Coronetti, Andrea (CERN ; Montpellier U.) ; Mateu, Isidre (CERN ; U. Experimental measurements of electron displacement damage at the CLEAR facility at CERN were performed on several diodes previously calibrated with neutrons and protons. The idea behind the study was to assess whether the facility can be used as an alternative for displacement damage qualification to neutron and proton irradiations. [...]
