VELO Module Production - Module Constraint System
/ Carroll, J
During assembly of the hybrid to the pedestal it was found to be difficult to maintain the position of the top edge of the silicon relative to the centre line of the module to within the given ±100µm tolerance. This was felt to be caused by a combination of the twist (fourth corner deviation) of the substrate [1] and the tapering cross sectional profile of the gluing tongue [2], that resulted in the hybrid leaning either backward or forward in excess of the ±100µm. [...]

VELO Module Production - Cable and Clamp Attachment
/ Smith, N A
This note describes in detail the procedures used in the fixing of the clamps to hold the cables in position on the pedestal in the final module assembly for the LHCb VELO detector modules. It summarizes the effects on the module of applying the cables..
