The rapid and unprecedented changes brought on by Covid-19 have accelerated the transition to remote working, requiring the wholesale migration of nearly entire companies to virtual work in just weeks, leaving managers and employees scrambling to adjust. This massive transition has forced companies to rapidly advance their digital footprint, using cloud, storage, cybersecurity, and device tools to accommodate their new remote workforce. Experiencing the benefits of remote working—including nonexistent commute times, lower operational costs, and a larger pool of global job applicants—many companies, including Twitter and Google, plan to permanently incorporate remote days or give employees the option to work from home full-time. But virtual work has it challenges. Employees feel lost, isolated, out of sync, and out of sight. They want to know how to build trust, maintain connections without in-person interactions, and a proper work/life balance. Managers want to know how to lead virtually, how to keep their teams motivated, what digital tools they’ll need, and how to keep employees productive. Providing compelling, evidence-based answers to these and other pressing issues, Remote Work Revolution is essential for navigating the enduring challenges teams and managers face. Filled with specific actionable steps, original illustrations and interactive tools, this timely book will help team members deliver results previously out of reach. Following Neeley’s advice, employees will be able to break through routine norms to successfully use remote work to benefit themselves, their groups, and ultimately their organizations.

A timely and hands-on resource informed by lessons learned from Fortune 500 CEOs and executives Leading at a Distance provides executives with the necessary skills to successfully lead in the new virtual workplace, backed by the research and expertise of global leadership firm Spencer Stuart. Although working remotely is not new, the global pandemic has placed virtual work at the center of everyday life. And it has thrust workforce strategies to the core of business operations globally. As the shift towards large-scale virtual work continues to grow and become a permanent fixture--by some estimates, 30% of the workforce will be working virtually - leaders must understand how to build virtual work environments that foster connected, engaged, and high-performing teams. Although some forward-thinking companies and not-for-profit organizations have made significant investments in technology and virtual collaboration, many others have simply joined the "Zoom culture" without fully appreciating what it takes to operate effectively at a distance on a sustained basis. Leading at a Distance is a timely, research-based, and highly practical guide for developing and implementing strategies for conducting high-impact virtual work, building trust, and enhancing team unity. Designed to help leaders shape organizational culture remotely, this must-have resource demonstrates how to conduct virtual onboarding for senior leaders, build top teams from a distance, manage accountability in the new virtual environment, and much more. A hands-on toolkit filled with compelling examples, expert insights, and invaluable advice, this book: * Provides clear guidance on establishing effective leadership in the virtual workplace * Offers practical approaches for establishing strong relationships, increasing employee engagement, and coaching from a distance * Addresses ways to keep geographically dispersed team members aligned and accountable * Illustrates creative ideas for boosting team morale * Features an overview of the unique challenges facing leaders in the virtual workplace * Discusses often-overlooked topics such as virtual hiring and onboarding Leveraging the authors' in-depth research and consulting experience, Leading at a Distance is required reading for anyone needing to adapt to a virtual way of working and develop their virtual leadership skills to maximize organizational effectiveness and performance.

The shift to virtual meetings was sudden and often traumatic for businesses across all industries as they responded to the global pandemic. Rather than focusing on what worked best, they focused on what worked now . . .which meant closing up the office and being suddenly virtual in nearly every meeting, often without the tools, the training, or the expertise to optimize the new "kitchen table" office. Thankfully, businesses are beginning to be more purposeful in both the tools they use and the approach they take. This book seeks to be a definitive guide for businesses looking to make their meetings as effective as possible in the ever-evolving "new normal"--leveraging insights from some of the foremost thought leaders in meeting science and on-camera communication. This book will: * Highlight new research insights springing from the rapid and exponential adoption of virtual meeting technology * Discuss the problems, challenges, and pitfalls of meeting in this new modality * Provide practical, actionable best practices, backed by meeting research that lead to more productive and effective virtual meetings

The dictionary definition of disruption is "disturbance or problems that interrupt an event, activity or process". This certainly describes our world of incessant change. Today's world is characterized by the acronym VUCA, volatility, uncertainty, complexity and adversity, the Covid-19 pandemic is just another arrow in the VUCA quiver. In this rapidly changing world, a volley of questions come to mind. What does the future hold? What does this change mean for employment in face of exponential growth of technology? What does it mean for future generations in a changing job market? What does it mean for business leaders navigating waves of disruption? What does it mean for all of us as citizens in a society evolving at breakneck speed? Undisruptable is a book that brings order to the chaos we are experiencing. While we cannot see into the future, there are repeatable patterns we can understand. Undisruptable demystifies the principles of change through a blend of analogies, innovation frameworks and the challenges we face whenever we lead change at a personal or organizational level. The first step to becoming undisruptable is to realize that evolution is a natural part of life, nature provides many examples. Next, by recognizing the cognitive biases, mental limitations, and psychological barriers that hold us back, we can learn to overcome them. Once we understand mental obstacles, we can start our journey towards transformation. Undisruptable will help you to: * Understand the principles of change * Overcome the barriers to change * See change as an opportunity and not an obstacle * Utilize simple frameworks and examples to guide you on your transformation By the end of this book you will have the essential tools and techniques to foster a reinvention mindset that will help you and your organisation to become Undisruptable.

It’s not enough to stay sane while you’re working from home: You deserve to thrive and excel. But that’s hard to do when you, your boss or your team are still trying to replicate the way you work at the office, enduring an endless series of video calls while pretending that yes, everyone is wearing pants. Remote, Inc. shows you a new approach, based on the mindset and habits of people who flourish while working outside the office some or all of the time. These are the folks who manage to get even more done at home, even though you know they’ve got kids or dogs underfoot and somehow fit in a daily run at lunchtime. Their secret? They think like a “business of one.” That’s how productivity experts Robert C. Pozen and Alexandra Samuel describe the mindset that lets people thrive when they’re working remotely, whether working from home full-time or spending a few days each week in the office. You can follow their lead by embracing the work habits and independence of an entrepreneur – while also tapping into the benefits of collegiality and online collaboration. Remote, Inc. maps out the principles that drive this entrepreneurial approach, and translates them into the specific habits and tools that make remote work productive and enjoyable. It shows you how to: Focus on goals and results instead of the 9-to-5 schedule Wow your managers by treating them like valued clients Beat information overload with a system that prioritizes the most important emails and messages Make online meetings purposeful, focused and engaging Learn to love your colleagues again by building great relationships through online collaboration Plan for success in a world in which many professionals will work remotely Just as important as making you a professional powerhouse, Remote Inc. will help you find a balance between work from home, and life at home.
