Recent results on conserved charge fluctuations in ALICE
/
Arslandok, Mesut
(Heidelberg U.) /ALICE Collaboration
Recent results on the analysis of event-by-event net-baryon number fluctuations in Pb--Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} = 2.76$ and $5.02$ TeV are presented. The cumulants of the net-proton distributions, proxies for the net-baryon distributions, up to third order are discussed. [...]

Upgrade of the ALICE inner tracking system: Construction and commissioning
/
Fantoni, Alessandra
(Frascati) /ALICE Collaboration
ALICE (A Large Ion Collider Experiment) is the CERN LHC experiment optimized for the study of the strongly interacting matter produced in heavy-ion collisions, in particular the characterization of the quark-gluon plasma. After the successful operation of the experiment during the first two runs of the LHC, the ALICE collaboration is currently working on a major upgrade of its detectors, to be installed during the 2019–2020 Long Shutdown (LS2). Two-Particle Transverse Momentum Correlations in Pb–Pb Collisions at $\sqrt {{{{\text{s}}}_{{{\text{NN}}}}}} = 2.76$ TeV
/
Gonzalez, V
(Madrid U. ; Darmstadt, GSI) /ALICE Collaboration
Two-particle correlations are powerful tools for studying the medium produced in heavy-ion collisions. In particular, two-particle transverse momentum correlations enable measurements of the collision dynamics sensitive to momentum currents. [...]

Study of Forward-Backward Multiplicity Fluctuations and Correlations with Pseudorapidity
/
Prokhorova, D S
(St. Petersburg State U.) ;
Kovalenko, V N
(St. Petersburg State U.)
Multiplicity fluctuations in two separated pseudorapidity intervals are studied in terms of strongly intensive variables. This work presents results obtained in the MC model with quark-gluon strings as objects extended in pseudorapidity space and acting as particle emitting sources. [...]

Overview of Recent Correlation Measurements with ALICE
/
Janik, M
(Warsaw U. of Tech. (main)) /ALICE Collaboration
Two-particle angular correlations is a robust tool that allows to study different physical properties of the system created in the high-energy collisions of both protons and heavy ions. ALICE experiment enable correlation measurements of identified particles for different collision systems, including less common probes, like ϕ mesons, $D$ mesons and deuterons. [...]

Summary of charm results from ALICE
/
Terrevoli, Cristina
(Houston U.) /ALICE Collaboration
An overview of the most recent charm measurements from the ALICE Collaboration is presented in this document. The study of heavy-flavour production is important to understand the properties of the hot and dense medium formed in ultra-relativistic heavyion collisions. [...]

Recent results on light (anti-)nuclei production with ALICE at the LHC
/
Bartsch, Esther
(Frankfurt U.) /ALICE Collaboration
The high-statistics and high-quality data samples in pp, p–Pb and Pb–Pb collisions at various collision energies collected by the ALICE Collaboration, and the excellent tracking and particle identification capabilities of the Inner Tracking System, the Time-Projection Chamber and the Time-of-Flight detector allow for the detection of rarely produced light (anti-)(hyper-)nuclei. The first (anti-)triton pT spectra in Pb–Pb at the LHC as well as the first (anti-) $^{4}$He p$_{T}$ spectra are presented. [...]

Dilepton measurements with the ALICE experiment at the LHC
/
Meninno, Elisa
(Stefan Meyer Inst. Subatomare Phys.) /ALICE Collaboration
The production of low-mass dielectrons and dimuons is a powerful tool for the understanding of the properties of the quark–gluon plasma (QGP) created in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions. Since such pairs do not interact strongly and are emitted during all stages of the collisions, they provide information about the full time evolution and dynamics of the medium created. [...]

Production of hadronic resonances measured with ALICE at the LHC
/
Song, Jihye
(Houston U.) /ALICE Collaboration
Measurements of short-lived hadronic resonances are used to probe the properties of the hadronic phase in ultra-relativistic heavy-ion collisions. Since these resonances have lifetimes comparable to that of the produced fireball, they are sensitive to the competitive rescattering and regeneration effects in the hadronic gas, which modify the observed particle momentum distributions and yields after hadronization. [...]
