Study of heavy-flavour hadron decay electrons as a function of charged-particle multiplicity in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s} =$ 13 TeV with ALICE / Acharya, Shreyasi (Calcutta, VECC) /ALICE The study of the multiplicity dependence of heavy-flavour hadron production in pp collisions provides insight into heavy quark production mechanisms and into the interplay between hard and soft processes in particle production. Further, multiple parton interactions may also play a significative role in the heavy-flavour production at LHC energies. New results on soft particle production in heavy-ion collisions with ALICE / Knospe, Anders Garritt (Houston U.) /ALICE Studies of soft particle production play an important role in understanding the physics of heavy-ion collisions. Measurements of hadron yields are well described by grand-canonical thermal models in heavy-ion collisions, while an enhancement of strangeness production is observed in smaller collision systems. Neutral meson and photon production at the LHC measured with the ALICE experiment / Matyja, A (Cracow, INP) /ALICE The LHC provided pp collisions in the energy range $\sqrt{s}=0.9$ to $13$ TeV , p-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{\mathrm{S_{NN}}}=5.02$ and $8$ TeV , as well as Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{\mathrm{S_{NN}}}=2.76$ and $5.02$ TeV. Neutral meson production spectra and their ratios $\eta/ \pi^0$ as well as photon double ratio $R_{\gamma}$ and direct photon spectra have been measured in a wide $p_{\mathrm{T}}$ range at mid-rapidity by the ALICE experiment. Photoproduction of vector mesons in ultra-peripheral Pb-Pb interactions with ALICE / Anson, Christopher Daniel (Creighton U.) /Alice collaboration Cross section measurements for vector meson production in ultra-peripheral collisions provide important insight into nuclear gluon distributions, the production mechanisms of vector mesons and a better understanding of the early stages of heavy ion collisions. With data collected during LHC \mbox{Run 1}, \mbox{ALICE} measured vector meson production in ultra-peripheral Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.76$ TeV.  Detector upgrades and improved triggers before LHC \mbox{Run 2} will be discussed. Charge correlations using balance functions of identified particles in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}} = 2.76$ TeV with ALICE / Alam, Sk Noor (Calcutta, VECC) /ALICE Collaboration By studying the balance functions of several hadronic species, one can gain insight into the chem-ical evolution of the Quark \textendash Gluon Plasma and radial flow. In a picture of early hadronisation, pairs of particles and anti-particles (created at the same space \textendash time point) are separated furtherin rapidity due to the higher initial temperature and diffusive interactions with other particles. Therefore delayed hadronisation will lead to strong correlations in rapidity in the final state.
