Test Beam Studies for the upgrade of the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter read-out electronics for the HL-LHC / Carrio Argos, Fernando (Univ. of Valencia and CSIC (ES)) /ATLAS Collaboration
The High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC) is expected to start in 2026 the delivery of 3-4/ab of proton-proton collisions with up to 200 collisions per proton bunch crossing. The electronics of the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter has to be upgraded to cope with longer latencies of up to 35 µs needed by the trigger system at such high pileup levels and higher read-out rates. [...]

Studies of the response of the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter to beams of particles at the CERN test beams facility / Zakareishvili, Tamar (High Energy Physics Institute of Tbilisi State University) /ATLAS Collaboration
The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) Phase II upgrade aims to increase the accelerator instantaneous luminosity by a factor of 10. Due to the expected higher radiation levels, aging of the current electronics and to provide the capability of coping with longer latencies of up to 35 µs needed by the trigger system at such high pileup levels, a new readout system of the ATLAS Tile Calorimeter (TileCal) is needed. [...]

Light-by-light scattering in lead-lead collisions in the ATLAS experiment / Ogrodnik, Agnieszka (AGH University of Science and Technology, Faculty of Physics and Applied Computer Science, Krakow) /ATLAS Collaboration
First direct evidence of light-by-light scattering ($\gamma\gamma \rightarrow \gamma\gamma$) was reported in 2017 by the ATLAS experiment, based on 0.48 nb$^{-1}$ of 2015 Pb+Pb collision data at $\sqrt{s_{\textrm{NN}}}=5.02$ TeV. A total of 13 events was found in the signal region with a background expectation of 2.6$\pm$0.7 events. [...]

Heavy Ions from ATLAS Experiment / Santos, Helena (Laboratorio de Instrumenta\c{c}\~ao e Fisica Experimental de Particulas - LIP, Lisboa) /ATLAS Collaboration
The experimental data collected by the ATLAS experiment during the Run 2 LHC runs provide a broad physics program to probe and characterize the Quark Gluon Plasma created in these collision systems. The large acceptance and high granularity of the detector is well suited to perform detailed analyses on bulk phenomena, electroweak probes, quarkonia, charged particles and jets. [...]

Study of ZHllbb with the ATLAS detector / Kato, Chikuma (Tsung-Dao Lee Institute) /ATLAS Collaboration
Hbb is the most dominant decay of the Higgs boson in the Standard Model (SM). The rate is important to test the SM and also sensitive to new physics beyond the SM. [...]

New VBS observations at the LHC / Yatsenko, Elena (Shanghai Jiao Tong University) /ATLAS Collaboration
At ICHEP2018 conference, ATLAS presented its first observations of same-sign WW and WZ vector boson scattering processes, the latter of which was considered as the 1st observation of such process at LHC, leading to a collaboration wide highlight at the ICHEP2018 conference. It is a very important milestone to probe the SM-EWK symmetry breaking and Higgs unitarization mechanism in the VBS processes. [...]

Miaoran Lu - CLHCP2018 - talk / Lu, Miaoran (University of Science and Technology of China) /ATLAS Collaboration
A search for a heavy resonance decaying into W Z in the fully leptonic channel (electrons and muons) is performed. It is based on proton–proton collision data collected by the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36.1 fb^{−1}. [...]

Study of Electroweak Physics of Same Sign / Zhang, Liqing (University of Science and Technology of China) /ATLAS Collaboration
This talk presents an observation of electroweak production of a same-sign WW boson pair in association with two jets using 36.1 fb−1 of proton-proton collision data recorded by the ATLAS detector at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. Events containing two same-sign leptons, electron or muon, and at least two jets, are selected. [...]

Observation of H ->bb decays and VH production with the ATLAS detector / Ma, Yanhui (Shandong University) /ATLAS Collaboration
A search for the decay of the Standard Model Higgs boson into a bb pair when produced in association with a W or Z boson is performed with the ATLAS detector. The analyzed data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 79.8 fb-1, were collected in proton–proton collisions in Run 2 of the Large Hadron Collider at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. [...]
