 Beam Optics Studies in the Large Hadron Collider : Observations on an Anomalous Octupolar Resonance Line in the LHC -- and -- Accuracy & Feasibility of the $\beta^*$ Measurement for LHC and HL-LHC Using K-Modulation / Carlier, F S While linear LHC dynamics are mostly understood and under control, non-linear beam dynamics will play an increasingly important role in the challenging regimes of future LHC operation [...] CERN-THESIS-2015-154 - 91 p.

 Beam diagnostics for measurements of in-flight annihilation cross sections of antiprotons at 130 keV / Aghai-Khozani, Hossein (CERN ; Munich, Max Planck Inst. Quantenopt.) ; Barna, Daniel (Wigner RCP, Budapest ; Tokyo U.) ; Corradini, Maurizio (INFN, Brescia ; Brescia U.) ; Hayano, Ryugo (Tokyo U.) ; Hori, Masaki (Munich, Max Planck Inst. Quantenopt. ; Tokyo U.) ; Kobayashi, Takumi (Tokyo U.) ; Leali, Marco (INFN, Brescia ; Brescia U.) ; Lodi-Rizzini, Evandro (INFN, Brescia ; Brescia U.) ; Mascagna, Valerio (INFN, Brescia ; Brescia U.) ; Prest, Michela (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Insubria U., Como) et al. The ASACUSA (the Atomic Spectroscopy And Collisions Using Slow Antiprotons) collaboration of CERN is currently attempting to measure the antiproton-nucleus in-flight annihilation cross sections on thin target foils of C, Pd, and Pt at the kinetic energy of 130 keV. The low-energy antiprotons were provided by the Antiproton Decelerator of CERN and a radio-frequency quadrupole decelerator developed by the ASACUSA collaboration.  The HIE-ISOLDE project and its scientific opportunities / Borge, M J G (CERN ; Madrid, Inst. Estructura Materia) ; Kowalska, M (CERN) ; Kadi, Y (CERN) ; Blumenfeld, Y (Orsay, IPN) The ISOLDE Facility at CERN produces pure and intense radioactive beams of 1300 different nuclei of 75 elements by the ISOL-method. Since more than a decade it offers the largest variety of post-accelerated radioactive beams in the world today. [...] 2015 - 4 p. - Published in : JPS Conf.  Quantum synchrotron radiation in the case of a field with finite extension / Wistisen, Tobias N (CERN) The semiclassical operator method of Baier and Katkov allows one to obtain the spectrum of synchrotron radiation in a way similar to the classical derivation but which is fully valid also in the quantum case of very strong electromagnetic fields. In the usual calculation the extension of the field is taken to be infinite. [...] 2015 - 9 p. - Published in : Phys. Rev. D 92 (2015) 045045 APS Open Access article: PDF;
