Work in the vicinity of the Ferney customs

The Public Works and Housing Department of the Canton of Geneva and Geneva International Airport have scheduled large-scale work on the runway which passes over the Ferney tunnel.

Although most of the work will be done at night, special traffic arrangements will be in force for the various phases of the work. The first phase of work will commence in mid-August and will last 14 weeks. The only change on the Route de Ferney will be that the lane reserved for taxis and buses will be closed. However, there will be single-lane alternating traffic on the Route Douanière, with traffic lights at the tunnel entrance.

The second phase of work will start in November 2005. The traffic arrangements on the Route de Ferney will be the same, except that the lanes will be diverted laterally. There will continue to be single-lane alternating traffic on the Route Douanière.

Three other phases of work are scheduled, lasting until June 2007.
