Enlargement of the External Mobility Programme

The External Mobility Programme was launched at the end of September 2007.

Initially, the programme was aimed at staff members on limited-duration contracts having received formal notification of the termination of their employment contract at CERN, to help them towards their next employment. The programme provides a privileged, fast-track entry into the recruitment process of partner companies.

Despite the short time since its inception, the programme has already delivered some encouraging and concrete results in terms of interviews granted to participating staff. The Programme has attracted considerable interest from both CERN personnel as well as from several major European companies.

The CERN Management has decided to broaden the scope of the External Mobility Programme. The Programme is now open to:

  1. All staff members whose limited duration contract will end in less than one year, as well as all those with indefinite contracts.
  2. All fellows who have been employed by CERN for more than 18 months.
  3. All doctoral students who have been in the CERN Doctoral Programme for more than two and a half years.
  4. All apprentices who are in their last year of apprenticeship.
  5. All ex-members of the personnel who are currently receiving unemployment benefits from the Organization.
