TPG: Unireso travel cards soon to be available for purchase at CERN

In the framework of a partnership between CERN and the TPG, all active and retired members of the CERN personnel will be able to purchase Unireso travel cards from the CERN Hostel - Building 39 (Meyrin site) from 1 February 2013. At the same time, the CERN Staff Association will stop selling cards to its members.

How to order a travel card

From 1 February onwards, travel cards can be ordered* directly from the reception of the CERN Hostel (Building 39) between the hours of 7.30 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. Mondays to Fridays:
→ a digital photograph will be taken when you order your card,
→ the card must be paid for, by credit card (EuroMaster, Visa or American Express) or in cash (Swiss francs only), when the order is placed.

*Please note that cards ordered at CERN will not be valid until at least 8 working days after purchase. No reimbursement will be possible once the order has been placed.

Regional travel cards: which zones apply to which towns and villages?

Note that zones 10 and 22 each count as two zones.

If you live in zone 86 (Thoiry, Saint-Genis Pouilly), an annual short-trip ("parcours court") regional travel card will allow you to travel as far as CERN using the Y bus only (the adult and junior cards cost 680 CHF and 440 CHF respectively). Please note that you cannot travel to the centre of Geneva with this card, but that it entitles you to go to the airport using the Y bus.

If you live in zone 87 (Gex, Ferney-Voltaire), you will need a 3-zone travel card: zone 10 + zone 87.

If you live in zone 22 (Tannay, Coppet), you will need a 4-zone travel card: zone 10 + zone 22 (each counts as two zones).

If you live in zone 81 (Veigy), you will need a 3-zone travel card: zone 10 + zone 81.

If you live in zone 82 (Annemasse, Gaillard, etc.), you will need a 3-zone travel card: zone 10 + zone 82.

If you live in zone 84 (Viry, Valleiry, Saint-Julien-en-Genevois), you will need a 3-zone travel card: zone 10 + zone 84.

If you live in zone 85 (Pougny, Challex), you will need a 3-zone travel card: zone 10 + zone 85.
